Chapter 9 Part 1

YN POV

I was sat reading with Annie, because she was the only sane person. Everyone who did the test of courage kept on questioning me a drowning me with questions, and saying things that didn't make sense. 

"So, Annie,  you planning to go to the festival?" I questioned, not looking up from my book. I felt like such a long time since we've hung out,

"No, I don't really like going to festivals, it's too crowded," She answered plainly,

"So in that case, do you want to hang out with me?"

"Yeah, if I'm allowed,"

We were completely oblivious to the other students in the classroom,

"YN, d-do you want to go to the festival with me?" Someone said. Reiner.

"Uh, well-"
"Sorry, she is going to hang out with me," Annie interrupted, her eyes finally leaving the page,

"At the festival? Oh so can we tag along! We're going to the festival as well!" Christa smiled,

"Can we go as well?!" Said literally everyone from the 104th First Years. 

"I guess we can't really hang out then..." I muttered,

"Maybe next time,"

I looked up to see Bertholdt looking over at us, blushing. By 'us' I mean Annie.

I slid over to Ymir and Reiner,

"Hey, so does Bertholdt like Annie?"

"How did you work it out?" Reiner said surprised. I gestured to him, as he stared at her,

"Yeah, so we had a plan, which those guys messed up! We noticed you were close to Annie, and overheard that you were going to hand out, so we made Reiner ask you to go with him, and take Annie with you, so we could get Annie and Bertholdt together!" Ymir explained,

"Well, let me help!"

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah! Plus they could be kind of cute together!"

"Uh guys, you don't need to go that far..." I sweat dropped when Reiner told us multiple ways to get him to confess to Annie,

"Trust me it will work!"

"But guys, why can't I just-"

"Shh, let the adults do the work!" Ymir shouted, "I have a really good idea! Follow me!"

Ymir and Reiner ran downstairs leaving me with Bertholdt alone on the roof,

"I wish I could just ask her, all I want, is to be with her..." Bertholdt sighed looking at the sun,

"Don't worry, you can do it, I hope they don't pressure you into doing it," I said, taking a place next to him,

"Ah! YN! You're still here? D-did you hear what I said?" He asked frantically,

"Don't worry, we are just trying to help you,"

"I hope so..."

Reiner, Bertholdt and I were already waiting at the festival, I was wearing a FC yukata (Is that how you spell it), and matching sandals. "

"Stay calm Bertholdt," I said, I looked over to see Reiner talking to him and giving him a demonstration on how to compliment girls, with an apple, and a chocolate covered banana with sprinkles. I was tempted to eat it though.

"Hey guys! Sorry we took so long!" Christa said from behind.

Annie and Christa were in yukatas, and Ymir was wearing a simple white shirt and black jacket.

They all started to compliment each other, when the rest of the group arrived, again, complimenting each other. They didn't notice me slip away, to explore the festival. I walked around, trying lots of games, and getting lots of food. I bought some shaved ice, when I heard my name being called out.

"YN!" Someone jumped on top of me,

"Hi Hanji!" I smiled, to see Hanji wearing her tracksuit, with Levi and Mike behind,

"Tch, stop jumping people Hanji. What if that wasn't YN, and you just jumped on a random stranger?"

"WELL I WOULD MAKE FRIENDS WITH THEM AND FORCE THEM TO BUY ME FOOD, DUE THE THE POOR STATE THAT I'M IN RIGHT NOW!"

"Hi Levi, hi Mike,"

Levi looked away, and Mike nodded,

"Hey Levi, don't you think YN looks pretty in her yukata~" Hanji smirked, dragging me over to face Levi. Levi just huffed and walked away, with Mike,

"Aw you would look so cute together!" Hanji grinned, "COME ON, LET'S BUY SOME CHILLI SQUID!" She yelled, dragging me booth, to booth.

Soon enough, I ran out of money to buy things for myself, while Hanji dragged a huge cart of new products,

"No wonder she's broke..." I muttered, tired, and exhausted from running around. I looked in my bag. 10 yen

"Well, YN, that was fun! Let's do this more often!" She grinned jumping around, drinking MY shaved ice.

"Eh" I mumbled. I didn't have enough energy to even speak! I should have stayed with the group, and I wouldn't be broke.

"BAIIII!" She squealed, jumping into a bush, before climbing a tree, managing to carry everything up with her.

I saw the group, but Sasha and Connie were missing. I didn't feel like getting up, due to the fact my legs ached. 

Eventually, I stood up, and stumbled over to a place where they did die-cutting.

"YN? Why are you here alone?" I heard someone say. I looked up to see...
