More years had passed, and you were getting impatient. Each day, Ganon's dark entity loomed over your kingdom, growing stronger and stronger, and you weren't doing anything to prevent it.

"Impa, I can't do this anymore. I'm so sorry, but I have to go." You said to Impa, who was seated atop a pile of pillows. You stood up abruptly, ready to head to your room, which you shared with Impa's granddaughter, when Impa's soft voice stopped you in your tracks.

"Princess," Impa began,"you and I both know there is nothing that can be done. Not until-"

"Not until Link wakes up, I know. But my sister is fighting Ganon each and every day alone, and Link is recovering from wounds which could have easily killed him," You took in a breath,"and here I am, Princess Of Disaster, sitting pretty in the safety of Kakariko." It all became too much for you. Your knees gave away and you collapsed back onto the floor, now weeping.

"Child, none of this is your fault-"

"I didn't say it w-was."

"You didn't need to. I can see it in those eyes of yours. Yes. I can see everything you are feeling. Sadness, anger, confusion, and doubt," Impa paused for a moment,"why are you in doubt, child?"

Using your sleeve to wipe away the tears, you began to speak,"What if Link doesn't wake up? What will happen then? I know that Link is-"

Impa cut you off,"You know that Link is strong, and brave and determined. I see no reason you should doubt him. When he wakes, no one will no who he is, he may not even know who he is. So, Princess, promise me, when that boy wakes up, you'll believe in him."

"Okay, Impa. Thank you." Impa smiled at you, and you excused yourself to your room.

Of course you believed in Link, but there was so much that could be done in his absence, even Zelda was helping, with her newly discovered power. Surely, there was something you could do.
Sighing, you jumped onto your bed.

Paya was sat at her desk, writing in her diary. She turned as you landed on your bed.
Paya was Impa's granddaughter, named after the Papaya seed, of which she had a birthmark in a place we do not speak of. Ask Impa, she'll tell you.
Paya was 16 (I think idk) which was the age of which you appeared. She could sense something was wrong.

"What's the matter, (Y/N)?" At first, Paya was very hesitant to call you by your first name so casually, even though she grew up with you around. Eventually, she got used to calling your by your name, and you became friends, forming an unbreakable bond.

"Nothing, Paya," You sighed,"just having trouble remaining optimistic."

"Again? (Y/N), Link will wake up, come through those doors and you can leave with him," Paya then became red in the face, and began trying to correct what she had previously said,"I-I didn't mean that! I love having you here! I-I meant to s-say-"

You chuckled,"I know what you meant Paya. Though, in the nicest way possible, I do wish I could leave with Link."

Paya turned back to her desk, and put her face in her hands, something she did when she was embarrassed,"Were you two...t-together?"

You sat up abruptly,"N-no. I mean..I-we..did kiss..b-but..."You began to scratch the back of your neck awkwardly, yet you were smiling at the memory.

"Princess (Y/N) of Hyrule, how dare you keep this from me!" She exclaimed, turning back around to face you.

You hopped off of your bed, rushing over to Paya. You put your hand over her mouth, shushing her,"Ssh! Impa might hear-"

"I already know, my dear." Impa's voice startled you both, she rarely ever came upstairs, only when it was important.

"G-grandmother! You shouldn't be using the stairs, I've told you!" Paya exclaimed. You, on the other hand, were in a heap on the floor, blushing. How did Impa know?

"(Y/N), child. A letter has arrived for you."

"M-me? From where?"

"Zora's Domain," Impa said,"King Dorephan wishes to see you."
