Chapter 29

Finally, the time had come to take back Vah Ruta from Ganon's clutches.

"Hopefully this rain will let out once we've taken it back," Y/N said,"I imagine it's starting to become a bother." Sidon chuckled.

"Yes, it is. Which is strange, with us being an aquatic race you'd think that we'd be enjoying it," Sidon looked at the Divine Beast and sighed,"we had to think about the rest of the Kingdom. If the rain doesn't stop soon, everybody would be doomed."

"We'll do our best." Link said, resting a hand on Y/N's shoulder. She smiled at him fondly whilst Sidon watched them both. He could see the adoration in their eyes when they look at one another.

"Well then, we best get to it. You have no idea how long it took me to get these shock arrows!" Link exclaimed.

Sidon gave his signature pose and said,"Let's do this!"

"Hey, Y/N. Can you look after the Sheikah Slate? I don't want to damage it." Link asked the Princess, albeit bashfully. Y/N smiled softly at him,"Of course."

He smiled back and handed her the Slate.

"Good luck, you two. If you shall need anything, I'll be right here." Sidon and Link nodded, then turned to face the reservoir. Sidon got into the water and awaited Link, who would sit on his back whilst Sidon swims around the Divine Beast.

Ruta was aware of their presence. It let out a loud wail. Y/N could see Sidon yell something to Link, but she couldn't hear. Anxiety started nipping at her thoughts. She tried to push the negative thoughts back.

Suddenly, Link was in the air with his bow drawn. It was as if time had stopped and everything moved in slow motion. Link pulled a shock arrow from his quiver and aimed at one of the power points on Vah Ruta. He hit it! Time went back to normal, and Link descended back down to Sidon on his paraglider. His climbed back onto the Zora to continue their task.

"Just three to go," Y/N whispered to herself,"it'll be over soon."

Without warning, a large ice block was now chasing the two males. Link immediately turned to Y/N, yelling her name.

"Y/N!" He yelled,"use the Cryonis rune!" Y/N searched the runes on the Sheikah Slate to find Cryonis. She tried to aim it at the now-quickly advancing ice block; it took some getting used to.

Finally, the block shattered into pieces. Link gave her a thumbs up and they both continued to the next power point.

This process was repeated a few more times.

At last, the energy points on Vah Ruta had been destroyed, and the Beast was safe to enter. Before Link advanced, him and Sidon swam back to Y/N.

"Well done, you two! I knew you could do it!" Y/N ran to Link and attacked him with a hug, almost knocking him to the ground. He kept his balance and hugged her back. Sidon chuckled at them both, giving Link 'that' look as he peered over Y/N's shoulder. Link gave an unimpressed face back to the Zora Prince, before breaking the hug.

"Look," Y/N said,"I didn't even notice the rain had stopped!"

"You're right," Sidon said,"finally! Now you can see the real beauty of Zora's Domain."

Link turned to Y/N,"Would you like to join me in entering the Divine Beast?"

"To be honest," Y/N said nervously,"I think that I would only slow you down. I haven't had any training for many years and have forgotten most of my skills. Perhaps, next time? In the mean time, I can find out about the other Divine Beasts." Link understood Y/N's explanation.

"That's alright," Said the hero,"I can train you after Vah Ruta, if you'd like?"

"That would be wonderful." Smiled the Princess.
