Crystal and Scott didn't sleep all night. After they started feeling cold up on the roof, they decided to move to the couch, which must have been over thirty years old and badly preserved.

They failed to notice Lux when she walked in on them while they were talking. She just stared at them for a full ten seconds, then turned around and went back to bed, though not before she cast a charm on the couch and broke one leg, making Crystal fall on Scott.

Lux successfully contained a fit of laughter and returned to her room with a smirk plastered across the face.

I'd forgotten how fun matchmaking was, I should do that more often, she thought as she lied back down in bed.

In the meantime, Crystal and Scott shot out of the couch and ran to the closest room to hide the fact that they may or may not have broken the couch, the closest room being Crystal's.

"That was close...", she panted leaning against the door.

"To a heart attack? Yeah...", Scott clutched his knees.

"You thing they heard it?"

"Probably... If you managed to hear fumbling up on the roof, I'm pretty sure that Lux and Alex heard the couch breaking down."

"Great...", she sighed, sitting down on her bed.

"Don't worry, I doubt they'll remember when they wake up.", Scott shrugged.

"Have you even met Alex?"

"Well, now that you mention it, he did threaten me with a ballista when we first met."

"Wait, really?!"

"It was before I found you.", Scott chuckled.

"I have to admit that my meeting with Alex wasn't any more hospitable... He put a knife at my throat and I made him face-plant on a tree."

"I'd love to see a recreation of the event.", Scott burst out laughing.

"I'd love to recreate it, should he start getting on my nerves.", Crystal joked.

"I missed you.", he said after a while.

"I hate to admit it, but I may or may not have missed you too.", she bit her lip.

"I'm really sorry about Tristan and everything else that happened that night. I mean it.", he frowned.

"I know.", she sighed. "Look, the last bits of that night may have been an utter disaster, but the rest of it was very nice. And you do know that what happened to Tristan isn't your fault, right?"

Scott looked away. "If we hadn't been there--"

"If we hadn't been there, the assassin after Daniel might have hit his actual target and this kingdom would have been Alastor's too. Trust me, I've been thinking about this for the entire past month. None of the outcomes were good. You're not to blame for Tristan, okay? The only person to blame is the one after my father."

"You know best, princess.", he gave up.

"I like that one. You should start saying it more.", Crystal smirked.

"I realised my mistake right after I made it.", Scott chuckled again.

Crystal was about to reply, but didn't get to say anything because she let out a long yawn.

"Am I boring you, princess?"

"I think that my sleepiness is starting to kick in...", she mumbled sleepily.
