The deep voice sounded gentle yet it made Lan Youzheng's hair stand on end. "W-what happened?" Because of the panic his voice sounded a bit raspy. Lan Youzheng felt the heart of the other beating steadily and slowly calmed down a little. He tried to remove the hand before his eyes. "Lan-lan don't look." What could scare him? Lan Youzheng tried to push him away but froze when he saw the sight before him.

It was really ugly. That was the only way Lan Youzheng could describe it. The peaceful garden had turned into a big mess, the plants and flowers were trampled and the ground had been dyed red. In the middle he saw something which looked like the remains of what once a body. The body was badly mutilated. The head was cracked open with limbs bent in strange ways. Scattered in between, small orange pieces decorated the gruesome scene as flowers.

Lan Youzheng was overwhelmed and started to feel a bit nauseous. He choked on his breath. Once again, the hand covered him eyes and the man embraced him. "Lan-lan, it was an accident."

Cinderella had died and he killed her.

Though he didn't understand what happened, the scene before him didn't leave any room for doubt. She was really dead. Looking at the pumpkin which exploded, Lan Youzheng concluded that she probably got squashed underneath the carriage when it fell. As for how the carriage fell, he was pretty sure that that was his own doing.

Even though Lan Youzheng had seen people dying before and at one point had used a corpse as writing material for one of his novels, the horrible scene which was imprinted in his mind made him feel cold all over. No matter how warped this world was, he never intended to kill Cinderella.

Before Lan Youzheng could continue his train of thoughts, Felix cupped his hand around his face and forced Lan Youzheng to look at him. He slowly repeated: "Lan-lan, it was an accident." Lan Youzheng calmed down and stared back at the green eyes. Suddenly a feeling of loneliness came over him. 'I want to be the only one in his eyes.' Where did such strange feelings came from?

"You okay?" Jaq smirked at Gus who was throwing up for the Nth time

"You okay?" Jaq smirked at Gus who was throwing up for the Nth time. "My cheese...." Gus whined and tried to stand up. But he failed terribly as he was still disoriented and dizzy. "You know Jaq, the thing is...those legs! I just don't get them, okay? We are not supposed to live that high from the ground! Though now since I got a bigger mouth I should be able to eat more cheese...but this is against nature!!!"

"Idiot!" Jaq kicked Gus, making him fall down again. "Miss Stella used magic to transform us, of course it would feel weird!" "Then why don't you have any problems walking around? It looks like you've been always a horse...maybe you are?" Jaq decided to ignore the stupid ramblings and watched how the pale maid cleaned the scene with her magic and walked towards her. "By the way, horses are not supposed to eat cheese." "NOOOOOOOOO........."

Stella felt faint. Witches were known as cold-blooded people who didn't bad an eyelid about slaughtering people. Her mother despised such killing and got exiled. She tried to use her power to help others instead. Stella remembered how her gentle mother taught her magic and the beauty of the world. But everything had changed since that night. Stella wished to never see people again. The death of her mother was horrible and she wished no one has to die like that again.

However when the horse panicked and pushed her Mistress underneath the falling carriage, she got reminded of her mother's death. Once again someone had died because of magic and this time it was her fault. Her poor lonely mistress...her life ended too quickly. Stella understood that Cinderella treated her badly, but she was convinced her mistress would turn out to be better once her father came back.

In the confusion, she accidently turned the little rat into a human. He was now hugged by the cat who tried to calm him down. Stella gathered her courage and looked at the scene before her. Since she was the once who caused all of this she decide she should clean it up. "ƈʟռȶɦɮʟɖʄӼȶɦɢʀɖռ" Slowly the red disappeared from the garden. Stella saw one of the horses walking towards her. He nuzzled his head against hers. "Thank you" she whispered.

She looked at the couple who were hugging each other. The rat changed into a little boy with short grey hair. Stella thought he was really cute, a little smile appeared on her face. The other man met her gaze and frowned. She quickly looked away and blushed. 'He looks really cool, I've never seen such green eyes.'

Lan Youzheng had finally calmed down properly and started to feel awkward in the embrace of Felix. In his previous world, his height was a bit above average but now he really small. He fitted perfectly in the arms of the other man. He was happy to be human again, but his pride was a bit hurt. He was a proper adult, why did he end up in the body of a little boy?! "Stop hugging me!" Felix smiled and let him go.

[Host please remember your mission]

'Oh, you're still here. Don't you think I got some other matters to deal with?'

[If Host doesn't take action the ball will have ended]

'Do you think that girl is in the right state of mind to enjoy dancing with prince charming?'

[Host's current emotional state is worse than the protagonist]

'...'

Felix noticed that Lan Youzheng was absent-minded again. "Lan-lan, what's wrong?" "...the ball." Felix started at the little boy, silently waiting for him to explain. "We should sent her to the ball, they already expect someone anyways. I mean, how are we going to cover up the death of Cinderella?"

I mean, how are we going to cover up the death of Cinderella?"

I was considering to add a warning at the beginning for gore. Personally I hate to put up warnings as it breaks the flow of reading, but I don't want anyone bashing at me. I did rate the story as mature...better safe than sorry...but yeah. Also there will be more blood flowing in the upcoming chapters. Next arc will have less deaths~

Now since I realize this arc has quite some casualties, let's count them!

[The poor little mob character rats] +8

[Second wife]+1

[First wife]+1

[Twin sisters]+2

[Most of the servants]+ idk let's say 20

[Cinderella]+1

[White Witch]+1

That is a total of 34 deaths in 6 chapters, for some reason I feel quite proud and disappointed in myself. Tell me what you think! In the end, how many people will kick the bucket?
