Chapter 20 - Another Letter

Fernando was getting ready to head out the back door of the suite when the phone rang again. Lety answered the phone and Fernando hesitated a moment to hear the conversation.

Fernando se estaba preparando para salir por la puerta trasera de la suite cuando el teléfono sonó de nuevo. Lety contestó el teléfono y Fernando se quedó un momento para escuchar la conversación.

It was Carolina, telling Lety that they needed to leave in an hour to go to the event for the evening. Lety looked at the letter in front of her and then answered Carolina.

Era Carolina, diciéndole a Lety que tenían que irse en una hora para ir al evento por la noche. Lety miró la carta que tenía delante y luego respondió a Carolina.

"Is it absolutely essential that I be there tonight Dona Carolina? Fernando showed up here in Acapulco this morning and we are trying to work some things out."

Carolina responded and Lety hung up the phone. "Is everything all right Lety, do you have to go to work? This can wait, if it has too." Fernando asked, as he stood at the sliding doors, ready to leave.

Carolina respondió y Lety colgó el teléfono. "¿Está todo bien Lety, tienes que ir a trabajar? Esto puede esperar, si es necesario " preguntó Fernando, mientras se paraba frente a las puertas corredizas, listo para salir.

Lety smiled, "No, Carolina is well aware of what is going on, she insisted I take the night off. She is doing a charity function tonight and it isn't part of my normal functions. But honestly, Don Fernando, she knows everything. I didn't feel right coming to work for her based on her relationship with the family and Conceptos without telling her the truth. Plus she already knew something was going on...Don Fernando, she was the person who walked in on us in my office." Lety lowered her head, embarrassed at having to tell Fernando who had seen them kissing passionately in her office, just days before. "And when Dona Marcia left her a message about the wedding being called off, she asked if I had anything to do with it, and I told her what happened in Omar's office before I came here."

Lety sonrió, "No, Carolina es muy consciente de lo que está pasando, ella insistió en que me tomara la noche libre. Ella está haciendo una función de caridad esta noche y no es parte de mis funciones normales. Pero honestamente, Don Fernando, ella sabe todo. No me sentí bien al venir a trabajar para ella, debido a su relación con la familia y Conceptos, sin decirle la verdad. Además, ella ya sabía que algo estaba pasando ... Don Fernando, ella fue la persona que nos sorprendió besándonos, en mi oficina. "Lety bajó la cabeza, avergonzada de tener que contarle a Fernando quién los había visto besándose apasionadamente en su oficina, solo unos días antes . "Y cuando doña Marcia le dejó un mensaje sobre la cancelación de la boda, me preguntó si tenía algo que ver con eso, y le conté lo que sucedió en la oficina de Omar antes de venirme por aquí".

Fernando just nodded his head, if he trusted anyone to advise Lety, it was Carolina Angeles, she was a woman who didn't judge based on appearances but instead seemed to see right to the heart of matters. Plus, what did it matter now if she knew. The whole world was bound to find out about all of his screwups.

Fernando solo asintió con la cabeza, si confiaba en que alguien le aconsejara a Lety, era Carolina Angeles, ella era una mujer que no juzgaba por las apariencias sino que parecía ver el meollo de los asuntos. Además, ¿qué importaba ahora si lo supiera? Todo el mundo estaba obligado a enterarse de todos sus errores.
