"good afternoon," calum greets, strumming an unfamiliar song on the bass guitar.

i wave at him and flash him a smile, "hey."

he sits down beside me on the piano chair, "are you better from yesterday?"

"yeah," i reply, "thanks."

"you're welcome." he smiles and continues strumming, "can i ask you a question?"

"you just did," he laughs.

"no, another question,"

"sure,"

he strums one last note before pulling his hands away from the guitar, "my birthday is tomorrow and i'm having a party friday and i want you to come."

"p-party?"

"well, not party, party. more like a get together. i'm inviting four friends from uni and i'd really like for you to come." calum pleads, "hey, you can even invite your boyfriend!"

"stop calling him my boyfriend!" i say.

he puts his hands up in defense, "sorry..."

i laugh, "and i'll think about it,"

"if you give me your number i can give you the address and directions," he says, wiggling his eyebrows.

"... are you flirting with me?"

he shrugs, "call it what you want,"

shaking my head, smiling, i reach out my hand, "give me your phone,"

he smiles back at me before fishing his phone out his pocket and handing it to me.
