Ava's POV

"Is there something we should know about?" Kiki said eyeing us suspiciously. I mean the only reason I did that was to piss Trish off, but why did I enjoy that? I sneaked a peak at Chase and he was as dumbfounded as I was.

"Er- I should get this out of my hair.." I said picking up my bag and bolting out of the cafeteria doors. Way to be subtle Ava.

I made my way towards the girls restroom. I threw my backpack on the floor and took pieces of ravioli out of my hair. My clothes were stained and my entire body felt so sticky. The only clothes  I had left were my baggy gym clothes. There was no way I was gonna spend the entire day in that. Might as well go home, I only had 3 classes left. I was sure someone could help me catch up on what I missed.

I grabbed my belongings and tried to avoid classmates passing through the halls. I was almost out of the building, but Chase quickly stopped me. "So what was that about?"he said quietly.

"It was just a way to get Trish off my back." I said trying to ignore the tingling sensation from Chase's touch. "Plus friends help each other out all the time."

Chase leaned in closer to my face, and I was worried he could still smell the stench of the ravioli. "Friends don't kiss each other like that."

I laughed nervously, "Touche! Anyway, I gotta go.."

Chase slung his bookbag over his shoulder and said, "So am I, what a coincidence." Chase soon put a look of innocence over his features, and opened the door for me.

"And exactly why are you leaving?" I said raising an eyebrow. We began walking towards the parking lot. I didn't fail to see that Chase was walking side by side with me, having close proximity with me.

"I hate school, you of all people should know that." Chase said with a 'duh' look on his face. We reached our cars. "Wow! Our cars are parked right next to each other! Another coincidence!" Chase was playing at something, and I couldn't put my finger on what it was.

I eyed him suspiciously, "Hmm, guess so.." Chase simply shrugged his shoulders and jumped into his car. He revved his engine, and sped out of the parking lot leaving me in the dust. Now i'm curious..

----

I was currently sprawled out on my bed attempting to take a nap. Unfortunately, after I shower I get bursts of energy. I gave up on my afternoon sleep, and decided to go for a swim. I had to admit it was getting colder as November neared, but fortunately I had a heated pool. I shimmied into my blush pink one piece and walked outside with a towel in hand. As soon as I got in, the front doorbell rang. Ugh, I hate people.

I walked inside leaving wet footprints throughout the house, and swung the front door open. To my dismay, Chase was outside my door. He gave me a once over and smirked, "What a coincidence that i'm here and you're half naked!"

My mouth opened in shock. What was up with him today? "What do you want?" I said rudely.

Chase pretended to be hurt and put a hand over his chest. "Well that's no way to talk to your friend, is it?" Chase invited himself in, and plopped on the couch.

I rolled my eyes and followed him. "Seriously Chase, did you need something?"

"Not really." He proceeded to turn on the television. "My Step dad and my mom are remodeling, so it's too loud for a nap."

"And you decided to bless me with your presence because..?" I said sarcastically.

Chase leaned into the couch, "Well I just thought it was a coincidence you were home too! Plus, your mom's never home, so why not chill here." I decided on just leaving him be for two reasons.

1. He wouldn't leave me alone if I kicked him out.

2. I sort of liked the company.

I pretended to be annoyed with his presence and said, "Well i'll be in the backyard, don't bother me."

"Don't worry babe" Chase said looking straight at the TV. I glared at him, and knew he could see me burning holes at the side of his head.

I walked towards the backyard and sunk into the pool. Finally peace and quiet! I closed my eyes and relaxed listening to the wind move the trees and the sound of the water. I could fall asleep right now. I'd finally get the nap I had been dreading for all day. Of course their is always something that has to dull my sunshine. Chase had catapulted himself into the water drenching my entire body.

"What the hell?!" I shrieked.

Chase swam towards me and innocently said, "What?"

I had it up to here with him! "What do you mean 'what'! You're being so weird today!" I yelled.

"Me? Being weird? Never!" Chase said propping his elbow on the cement.

"Are you annoying me because I kissed you?? Because if it is, GROW UP! You're driving me crazy with all the hints! First it's the 'coincidences'  Then it's you showing up at my house out of nowhere and now this?! What's next huh? You sneaking into my house and-" I didn't get to finish the last part. Mainly because Chase was kissing me. Yes,right now. Soon enough, we were moving in sync and I had forgotten that we weren't even together.

Chase pulled away with a smile on his face, "You talk too much."

I rolled my eyes and said, "If you think that a kiss is gonna fix whatever is happening between is," I motioned with my hands. "you've got another thing coming."

"We like each other, what can I do to call you mine again?" Chase said impatiently.

I tried so hard not to smile at that. I mean he really wanted me back. But I couldn't make this easy for him. No way! "Figure it out for yourself."

Chase ran his hands in his hair in frustration. "You know what? I will!" He then got out of the pool and ran out of the house. I heard him shut the front door, and I felt myself grinning so wide. He really did make me go crazy.

NEXT DAY

I walked off to my locker wondering who the heck came up with the idea of Math. I swear that subject never came easy to my brain. When would I even need to Polynomials. I mean it's not like i'm gonna whip out my calculator wondering what "x" is. I reached the hallway of my locker and saw Chase standing by it. His back was to me, and he was tapping his foot anxiously. I wonder what he could have stored for me today. I decided to plan a sneak attack on him, and watch him squirm

I quietly jogged towards him and said, "Boo!" Chase jumped and was panting.

"Don't ever... do that... again." he said catching his breath. And I thought I was the drama queen. I began chuckling at his state, and noticed he had a bouquet of pink tulips. He saw me staring at the flowers and held them out to me.

"These are for my future girlfriend." he said sheepishly. I was about to get on my tip toes and peck him on the cheek, but then decided he needed a little misery.

"These are gorgeous.. buttt it's gonna take more than my favorite flowers to win all of this back." I said motioning dramatically to myself. He sighed and looked at me defeated.

"I'm gonna have you by the end of this week. Just wait and see." He said cornering me into my locker. We were inches apart from each other. I teased him by looking at his lips, which he took as a way for me to kiss him. He leaned in and brushed his lips against mine. Not today Chase! I pushed his forehead with my finger and said, "Sike!"

I went under his arm and walked away with the tulips in my hand. "Nice try!" I threw over my shoulder.

This was pretty hilarious, and if he thought he could win me over by Friday he was crazy! It was currently Wednesday and if he thought i'd be swooned over that quick he had another thing coming. I did have strong feelings for him don't get me wrong, I was just scared he'd break my heart again. Normally, I wouldn't dare to give people second chances but Chase was different. He had this spunk that made me want to give him endless chances. I shouldn't be thinking like that, because it's not good to let people walk all over you.

'Please be different this time' I thought to myself.
