Chapter 20

"Good morning, Miss Segovia."

Tinanguan ko ang babaeng bumati sakin pagpasok ko sa building. I'm still here at San Antonio working my ass 24/7 as head of the Customer Service Department in one of the oldest company in San Antonio.

After finding jobs and passing applications for a month, this company offered me with more than enough of what I need.

Frankly speaking, malakas ang kapit ko dahil gamit ko ang apelyido ng tunay kong magulang and the fact that I'm a licensed English major teacher made my application over qualified.

For the last five months of working here in San Antonio, Trace never failed to surprise me every time he will visit me.

Next month will be our first anniversary and I'm planning to surprise him there in Manila.

Well, plano pa lang naman.

"Ma'am, Your mother is in line two."

"Thank you, Mercy."

Sa limang buwang pananatili ko dito ay dalawang beses pa akong nakabalik nga Manila.

Mom is calling me every time to remind me of going home every weekend.

"Yes Mom?"

"How are you, darling?"

Huminto ako sa ginagawa ko at tumayo mula sa upuan ko.

"Mommy, I'm fine. Your asking me that everyday. How about you?"

She released a heavy deep breath after hearing what I said.

"Kailan ka ulit bibisita dito?" She asked instead of answering me.

"If I'm not busy maybe this weekend. My tini-train pa kasi akong fellow Mom. I can't have one of my agents to do  the task dahil apat ang tini-train ko."

If I'm seeing her now, I'm sure nakataas na naman ang kilay niya.

"Tamarah, pumayag ako na bumalik ka diyan because he said that you would teach. Nang malaman ko na sa isang kompanya ka nagtatrabaho nagsisisi ako kung bakit kita pinayagan."

I smiled from what she said. Ganito naman kasi palagi ang conversation namin every time na tatawag siya.

Na dapat nasa kompanya nalang namin ako nagtatrabaho at hindi dito. Na kung sana nandun ako ay palagi nila akong kasama at hindi kagaya ngayon.

"Mom, we already talk about this. I know that you think me being here is just a nuisance but Mom, I love it here. Tsaka being one of the head, it just feel like teaching."

"But Tamarah, iba parin kung nandito ka."

Napa buntong hininga ako sa katigasan ng ulo ni Mommy or is it just me?

Lumabas ako ng office at nagsimula sa training ng apat na fellow.

After indulging their request to have a ten minutes break tinawagan ko sa si Ella.

I hardly seen her for the past weeks and we haven't talked personally for, I think, a month already.

Lagi nalang siyang busy but I doubt that. I have this feeling that something's going on with her, Dark and Miguel.

I hurriedly went home after 6. May usapan kami ng crew na magkikuta later for some fancy outing idea. Wala sana akong balak na pumunta but I'm needed to be there and its my responsibility to be with them.

Of course, they are my team. Ako ang head kaya dapat ako palagi ang masusunod at kasama nila every company outing.

The whole company plans on going to Vaharka. Isang garden or forest resort. May isang malinaw na tubig agos mula sa fall at may hot spring. They also have these weird rides and diving areas around the resorts.
