I can't stop thinking about what Trace had said. Lutang ang isip ko at galit ang buong sistema ko. How dare he say those words when I'm fucking married.

"Hon, let's talk."

Bigla akong napatingin sa may pintuan ng kwarto.

"We're talking."

"Naya..."

"Come on, Steven I have things to do. Kung may sasabihin ka, sabihin mo na."

Lumapit siya sakin at umupo sa tabi ko.

"How would I go back to States if you're not talking to me?"

I rolled my eyes.

"That's already the plan. What's new?"

"Hindi mo ba ako pipigilan?"

My forehead creased. I stared at him.

"Why would  I?"

"Because you're my wife?"

Umikot ulit ang mga mata ko.

"I don't get to tell you what to do Steven, just because I'm you're wife. We both know what's real and what's not."

Tumayo ako at pumasok sa closet.

"Naya..."

"Do what you must. You'll hear nothing from me."

Hindi na siya sumagot kaya inisip kong lumabas siya sa kwarto. Napaupo ako sa sahig.

"Damn it." I cursed.

Alam ko naman na napakalaking gulo ang ginawa ko nang pumayag akong magpakasal kay Steven noon. But what can I do? That time I had nothing plus the fact that he already decided.  And for pete's sake, nangyari na yun. Kahit anong gawin ko tapos na yun at kilala ako ngayon ng buong pamilya namin bilang mag-asawa. That damn wedding that never happened. Only damn papers.

I  sighed heavily and went out from the closet. I almost shriek when I saw him still sitting in my bed. Akala ko lumabas na siya.

I cleared my throat. "Akala ko lumabas ka na."

"Stop avoiding me."

Nilingon ko siyang nakakunot ang noo.

"I'm not avoiding you. At tsaka, bakit naman kita iiwasan?"

"Hon, I didn't know this would happen too soon."

I shook my head unbelievably.

"Ako alam ko." Tumingin siya sakin. "Hindi mo naman dapat kasi kailangang malaman kung kailan mangyayari, dapat palagi kang handa."

"I'm sorry for dragging you into this."

"How is she?"

He smiled and his eyes sparkled. I feel jealous.

"She's still beautiful...and lovely."

I envied her. Nakalimutan na nga niya si Steven, siya parin ang laman ng puso nito.

Months before I met Steven at Seve's bar, he had a car accident. Kasama niya sa kotse ang girlfriend niyang si Danielle. He was hospitalized for a week while Danielle falls into coma and in critical condition.

After months, nagising ang babae pero she have an amnesia and temporary paralyzed. Dinala sa ibang country ang babae without him knowing. The girl's parents keep it a secret or maybe not intentionally. They dated secretly and only Seve knows.

Steven was heartbroken and ruined. He feel so guilty. He despised himself.  Ang sabi ni Seve hindi pumapasok sa kompanya si Steven at laging nasa bar ng huli. And one of those days after losing her girlfriend, we meet.
