Ethan felt the sudden propulsion of Ms. Weir teleporting themselves into her magic room. Looking to the floor for his friends, Ethan took a sigh of relief to see Benny, Ellie, and Sarah remaining unconscious on the carpeted coven room.

"T-They need a doctor, right?" Ethan stuttered. "I mean, I took nursing classes in summer school—!"

"No need for a doctor, dear; they are just under a spell," Ms. Weir assured. "Liberos meos requiem."
Muttering a spell under her breath, three raised cots conjured themselves into the magic room.

"Help me lift them onto the beds, dear."

The earth priestess and psychic lifted the victimized teenagers one-by-one onto the cots. Their ragdolled bodies sent shudders down Ethan's spine, wishing to any power that one of them could wake up right then and there.

"I expected something like this to happen," Ms. Weir admitted, shaking her head in brief defeat. "They'll be okay, but Stern sent a very strong stun spell."

"So, they're just asleep, right?"
Ethan couldn't help but feel completely frantic. Even if he could never admit it, he needed all of his friends to keep him sane. Hell, even just Rory would keep him on track.

"That is one way to put it, dear," Ms. Weir sighed, staring down upon her beloved mages that she felt responsible for. "The stun spell should wear off at the end of the week."

The grandmother noticed Ethan's silence and sighed to the psychic. She loved Ethan as if he were another grandson, just as she did with Ellie as they grew up together.
"I saw the explosion," she spoke, adjusting Ethan's attention. "And I just knew... that you'd be the only one. You would be alone."

"—Wait, you knew this would happen?"
"Now, honey, hold on a second—!"
"Y-You knew that I would be alone?" he almost shouted. "If you knew all along, why couldn't you stop it?!"

"It was not my fate to stop Stern," Ms. Weir stated. "It was your all's."

After deciding to drag a single pillow and blanket onto the magic room floor, Ethan tapped his finger in distress. Trying to sleep after all of this was a nightmare itself, but he wasn't going to leave his friends alone in there. What if they woke up?

The psychic frustratedly lifted his wrist to check the time: 2:26 am.
"Ugh... fuck this."

Ethan lifted himself off the ground, irritated at his lack of sleep and wanting to get rid of his thoughts. The slugged himself between Benny and Ellie's cots, finally taking a second to recognize their best friends' injuries.
Benny was hurt the worst, considering every bruise and slash that marked his body. A rugged gash sliced itself into Benny's arm, but before Ethan could touch it, the thought alone of grazing against his best friend sent him into a vision.

Everyone was running out of the council building. Ethan watched in slow motion as the purple explosion slowly make its way to his friends. All he could do was watch as Benny quickly jumped on top of Ellie to cover her from the magic expelling from the council building. Ethan could see Sarah trying to use her vampire speed to get away from the blast, but even she was not fast enough.

He was viciously thrown out of his vision as fast as he was pushed in, hyperventilating at the sudden energy it stole from him.
"You're a good dude," Ethan whispered to Benny, knowing he couldn't hear him.

As he turned to mourn the loss of communicating with his witch companion, Ethan couldn't help but feel like he was seeing things. A purple flash would enter his line of sight but leave in an instant. He blinked hard before realizing he wasn't seeing things... he was seeing Ellie's fingers.

Ethan leaned into her hand and awed at the tiny purple sparks that flew out of Ellie's fingertips. "What's that about?"
Ethan took a leap of faith and poked her twitching fingers, jumping at the sudden shock that it sent up his arm. "Ow! That burned, El!"

He couldn't tell if it was from delusion or desperation, but Ethan wanted that to be purposeful.
"I'm going crazy," he huffed. "Ellie?"

As Ethan expected, no response.
"Ellie, I need you to shock me again," he insisted to his unconscious friend. "Benny, if you're hearing this, I'm totally not holding her hand right now."

There was silence as his hand was cupped around Ellie's, until he yelped at the feeling of a small spark strike his hand.
"Ow!" Ethan winced, before smiling that he got what he asked for. "You can hear me!"
