A few months have gone by and Rose is still in New York. She still hasn't fully settled in which gives hope for others back in California.
It was a Sunday afternoon and Rose was sitting outside on her balcony, listening to the street noise.
She sat there for awhile, looking out onto the streets of New York. How much the view reminded her of own apartment back in California.
She thought of how dust must be gathering in her dark, cold, and empty apartment back home. She went back inside and walked around her temporary apartment and saw how much of her stuff was still in boxes and how it's not even all of her stuff. Some of her things are still in California, sitting there untouched.
