Why I Left and Why I'm Leaving

Chapter 7

[Seto's POV]

[This was right after Adam and Ty left]

"What did you do to them!!" Valerie screams and charges me. I panic and lift her up with purple mist and her eyes widen. Valerie continues to scream and flail around until she doesn't have any more energy. She brings her knees to her chest and cries. I begin to gently lower her down.

"I-" I begin before being cut off by Mitch.

"Why are you doing this?" Mitch asks and walk over to Valerie. He kneels down and pulls her into a hug.

"I- it wasn't-" I stutter and try to explain.

"You liar!" Valerie screams. She jumps up and begins to charge me once more, but Mitch holds her back as she screams, "Liar! Liar! You made them disappear! Liar! Why would you do this?!"

"I-" I decide against defending myself. It wasn't me. I walk up marble steps and hear sobs. "Leave." I open the doors and hear them tiptoe outside. I slam the doors shut and mutter a spell. My home is now no longer visible from the outside.

"Seto? What's wrong?" Lizi comes out of her room. Lizi is a tall girl with white hair and black streaks with the occasional multicolored streak. She is my girlfriend and the best one I could ask for.

"I just failed another spell." I felt tears on the brim so I pulled up my hood a bit more.

"Seto." She pulled me into a gentle hug. "Tell me all about it."

So I did. I told Lizi that I had warned them, that they didn't care, how it went wrong, and how it ended.

"Oh, honey." She pressed her lips against mine. I licked her bottom lip, asking for entry. She pulled away. "Do you know what happened to them?" I shake my head. "If you want, I could try to come up with a spell to help them and give you a break."

"That-" I was interrupted by the sound of sobbing and I felt my cheeks go hot. Lizi pulled my in for another hug and I realized it was me sobbing. Lizi began rubbing circles into my back and we stood there in the middle of the hallway. Lizi led me over to a chair and sat me down. My sobbing gradually turned into a sniffle.

"Lizi. You're the best." She smiles.

"Just relax until you feel better."
