Link growled as 'Dark Link' smirked and ran his fingers through Zelda's hair. She looked paralized with fear

Well, don't just stand there looking like you're going to go on a murder streak. Get in there! Midna said,

"Any suggestions on how?" he snapped. Meanwhile, Dark Link kissed Zelda's neck. She tried to Push against him, but with no avail,

You hold the triforce of courage, Link. The power is already in you. All you have to do is let it loose,

Only problem was that he had Absolutly no idea how to do that.

When Dark Link's hand started to wonder, he felt the snap.

Power surged through him as his fist whipped forward and crashed through the wall. Full of adrenaline, he looked over at Dark Link and Zelda, who both looked extremely shocked,

"I've got to say," Dark Link murmured, "I did not see that coming," Link grabbed his shoulders and threw him. Dark Link went crashing into the wall.

Then, the adrenaline ended. Suddenly, he felt light-headed. He took à deep breath and shook his head.

Dark Link had recovered and drew his sword. Link reached for his and panicked. In the hurry, he had forgotten it,

You have something he doesn't, remember? Midna pointed out.

He pressed the button and smirked as Dark Link was once again looked wide eyed. He shook off his surprise and swung at him just as Link leaped at him, which caused him to go flying. He whimpered and shifted back. So that wouldn't work. Dark Link chuckled and slunk towards him as he struggled to get up. Dark Link's hand was suddenly around his neck, though not actually touching his skin because of his collar. Link struggled against him and, as he did, one of his shadow's fingers slid from his shirt to his bare neck.

Dark Link hissed and dropped him. He looked at his finger, which was burned. Link's neck felt like he had been electrified,

"What the?!" Dark Link screeched. They were both confused, but instantly the hero knew what had to happen. Would it hurt? Like nothing he'd ever felt before, but he had to.

He jumped up and slammed both of his hands onto Dark Link's face. They both screamed in unison. He struggled, but Link wouldn't let him go.

In desperation, Dark Link formed à dagger somehow and stabbed Link's leg. He then let go in pain. Before he could go after him again, Dark Link crossed his arms over his face to form an x, and disappeared.

That's when Link slumped to the ground. Zelda bolted over to him. The huge cut in his side was bleeding steadily, along with serious burns on his hands. He watched half-conciously as she went to her dresser and pulled out a fairy in a bottle. They were very rare after the three years, so when she tried to open it over him, he put his hand up,

"Don't," he murmured, "You'll need that," Tears were flowing silently down her cheeks and onto his chest. She shook her head and opened it. In that state, he was too slow to stop her.

As the fairy worked it's magic, Link let out a deep breath, the pain going away. He stood up when it was over and noticed how destroyed the room was,

"Sorry about that," he said. She laughed, to relieved to care, and kissed him. It took him by surprise, since what she had just went through with someone who looked almost exactly like him.

Guards flooded into the room,

"A little late," Zelda scoffed,

"Princess, the attackers have fled. The castle appears safe now, though we would advice rooming elsewhere," She nodded and walked past them. Link followed,

"You can stay with me, if you want," He said, catching up to her. Three years before, he would have died from embarrassment if he had said that. Not anymore,

"That'd be great," she sounded relieved, as if she was afraid she'd have to room with one of the guards.

As they walked down the hallway to his room, he noticed the burns were still on his hands. Strange.

The thoughts soon left his head, though, as they approached his door. His room wasn't much different than hers, just with less stuff in it. Obviously eghuasted, Zelda flopped down on the bed. He couldn't help but chuckle at just how un-princess that looked.

He went and grabbed some extra blankets to lay on the floor,

"You don't have to sleep on the floor," Zelda said, slightly embarrassed. He looked up at her,

"Where else would I sleep?" She turned red,

"With me," she said quietly. His eyes widened,

"Uh...," Her mouth opened,

"Not in that way! I mean, just to sleep," He sighed,

"I don't know," he looked down,

"Oh come on. I know you're not going to try anything, and it has to be better than the floor," he sensed another reason,

"Do you want me to?" he asked, standing up. She nodded sheepishly,

"I'd feel better if you did," He nodded and took his shoes off before climbing in next to her. Strangely, it didn't feel weird. She snuggled up to him and he smiled,

"Link?" she whispered,

"Hmm?" he asked, half-asleep already,.

"I feel safe around you," she said. His grin grew as he put his arm around her.
