The wolf continued to look at Link from a distant clifftop. Link glanced back, half expecting Zelda to be behind him, but saw nothing. He looked back at the golden wolf, slightly unsure what to do,

Do exactly what you've done before, Midna advised boredly.

Link sat and howled the song once again. Immediatly, the golden wolf joined in.

Once their duet had ended, The golden wolf panted and the familiar sentence floated towards Link,

"With sword in hand, find me," before he jumped off the cliff.

Link silently stood up and shook his fur. For a few seconds, the fact that Zelda wasn't around wasn't unusual to him. Once he had remembered she was supposed to be there, he shifted back and called her name,

"Over here!" a distant, deep voice called back. He walked in the direction of her voice, and walked up to her, just as a Goron was walking away,

"Goodbye, sister," he said roughly,

"What was that about?" Link asked, grabbing Zelda's hand and leading her back towards Kakariko,

'Just making small talk. You were knocked out for awhile, so I got bored. The Goron just filled me in on all of the heroic things you've done for them,' Midna receited.

Link blushed as she looked at him out of the corner of her eye,

"I'm sure he was exagerating," he murmured,

'Perhaps. He is really fond of you, that one. I suppose I'll just have to ask the other people of the town, to make sure he wasn't stretching the truth.'

She smirked,

"No, no, no. That won't be nessesary," Link stuttered. Zelda laughed,

'Why do you not want anyone to know?' Midna asked for her, completly bored with the situation

"Why didn't you want anyone to know you were the princess? It's the same kind of thing," he shrugged. She stayed silent the rest of the way into town.

He wasted no time walking over and jumping up onto his mare. Zelda got on behind him,

'So, where is...whatever we're after next?' Did you tell her anything? Midna asked, slightly bitter. He had forgotton that she didn't know how howling stones work,

"When I was...knocked out or whatever, I went to this place, and saw him, as a golden wolf. We howled together, before he told me I needed to 'take sword in hand and find him.' So, now we're off to Ordon Spring, where I can talk to him," he explained in a rather quiet voice. The villagers looked at them as they rode by, and he'd prefer they didn't know about this,

'What will I do?'

"Well, I've never tried to take someone with me to see him, so you might not be able to. I'll try though," he added, seeing her disappointed look. She nodded slightly.

The ride to Ordon was quiet, which wasn't surprising, since Zelda didn't really have à choice. When they crossed the bridge into Ordon, however, she tensed up slightly behind him, most likely remembering the last time she saw other Links,

"It's fine," he assured her as they slowed to à stop at the spring. He helped her down and they both turned to find the golden wolf.

Link took her hand and walked up to it. For a split second, it seemed slightly confused, but it shook it off and jumped at them. Instead of attacking him straight on, he jumped at their hands, seeming to understand that he wanted her there.

Link shook his head and stood up. The foggy area surrounded him, and Zelda silently stood up beside him.

The golden wolf sat à few feet away, back towards him. He howled and the stalfos took his place. He still did not turn,

"Why have you called out for me once again?" he said, in his slightly airy voice,

"We need your help," Link called back,

"Ah, yes. We," he said, turning towards them, "Who might this be?" he asked, arms crossed,

"Zelda," Link answered, slightly protectively,

"So, this is the Zelda you risked so much for to safe?" he stepped forward. Link blushed slightly, "I remember when I did the same, with my Zelda,"

Zelda seemed uncomfortable,

"Listen, um, Link. We have an issue. It's a long story. You see, there is-" Link started. The stalfos held up his hand,

"No need. I know all about Dayfos, and the Dark Links, and I know why you are here," he said, "and I will help,"

Zelda smiled, and the stalfos looked at her, "I also know what they did to you," She seemed hopeful,

"Can you fix it?" Link asked,

"Yes, but it will take time. A great power caused this, and myself alone will not be able to reverse it quickly," He explained,

"What about me? The two Links in the dream were the shadows of you and me. I can help," The stalfos shook his head,

"You have yet to discover your full power. In your current state, you wouldn't be much help," Link looked away. How many times would he be told he was useless?

"Well, just do whatever you can, then," he murmured. The stalfos nodded and walked over to Zelda, who seemed on edge. He stopped a little away from her, seeming to sense something that Link couldn't,

"Would it, perhaps, put you at ease if I were to look more, well, human?" he asked her softly. He seemed to have à soft spot for her.Jealousy sparked inside Link.

She hesitated, before nodding.

A bright white light flashed, blinding him. When he finally recovered, the Man before him had a startling resemblance to himself. His eye was still covered with a patch, but he had bright blonde hair that looked unkept, with a lot of it pulled back into a small ponytail. He was wearing a green tunic similar to Link's. His one eye was bright blue. Zelda didn't seen surprised by the resemblance,

"Wow, you really weren't kidding when you called me your son," he murmured. The other Link chuckled,

"No I wasn't. Now, back to the matter of Zelda," he stepped forward and grabbed one of her hands with both of his, "I think it would be best for you to wait for us at the spring," he said to him.

He didn't have a chance to object before he was shot back to Ordon Spring.
