To her relief, Zelda slept dreamlessly that night. Something had felt strange, however, like she had been watched.

She soon forgot about that as a loud knock woke her. As she slowly opened her eyes, she saw Link walk over to the door, looking disheveled.

Sarth swept through the doorway as soon as it was open. Zelda sat up and rubbed her eyes,

"My apologies for waking you, majesty," he murmured, bowing. She waved him off,

"What do you want?" Link asked, running his hand through his hair. There was an imprint on the side of his face, from the side of her desk,

"I wish to inform you on the Ball to be held tonight. I attempted to notify you yesterday, but seeming how eager you both were to depart, I never recieved the chance," Zelda was suddenly wide awake,

"Tonight?!" She croaked. Sarth pretended to not notice how hoarse and soft her voice was,

"Indeed. In celebration of your homecoming, and of the future prince. A maid will be by shortly to help you prepare. As for you, sir Link, I ask that you follow me,"

"For what?" He sounded like he desperately wanted to go back to sleep,

"You have to prepare as well, sir," Sarth said, as if that was obvious. Zelda stood up and walked over to Link, who put his arm around her,

"Oh, right. Of course," He murmured, somewhat trying to keep the peace.

He kissed her cheek before following Sarth out.

Zelda didn't have to wait long before the maid came around,

"Hello, Majesty. Are you ready for me?" The small, blonde girl asked in a high voice. Zelda nodded, "Let's get started then, shall we?"

"And we are...done! Have a look," the girl said happily as she turned and started gathering up her stuff. Zelda stood and turned towards the mirror,

"Wow, I-"

"Look gorgeous? I know. I'm sure the future prince will think so too," she bowed and left silently.

The princess couldn't look away from the girl in the mirror. How could that be her? The maid had transformed her into someone stunning.

Her brunnette hair was pulled back at the top, the same as usual, with her headpiece sitting on her forehead. Below that, however, was very different. Instead of her usual hairstyle, her hair fell in soft waves all around. She noticed it sparkled slightly in the light.

The gown was perfect. The low-cut corset was dark purple with straps that almost hung off her shoulders. The skirt had a large white stripe going from the corset to the bottom. The rest was light purple and slightly crimped, forming a midsized train behind her. She had white gloves that went far up her arms. It was simple, but elegant.

The maid had also managed to make her makeup perfect, making her look that much more unbelievable,

"Your highness?" A guard peeked around the door, "Are you prepared?" he said to her. Her eyes widened. It was time already? The day had flown by.

She took a deep breath and turned to him,

"Yes," She straightened and walked past him.

The corridor was empty, as it usually was. The guard followed her down the staircase, and onto the first floor.

The halls buzzed with the nearby clamor. The guard led her to the right, so nobody would see her before it was time,

"Where is Link?" she asked him. He stopped in front of the golden doors that led to the ballroom,

"He shall be here shortly. Now, if you will excuse me," he bowed before walking away,

"Hey, Zel," Link called from behind her. She turned and smiled at him. He stopped in his tracks,

"Woah," he said, shocked, "You look ravishing," she laughed,

"You don't look so bad yourself," She had downplayed it though. Link looked extremely handsome. He had on a black tux with à dark purple collar and bowtie. Someone had managed to somewhat tame his hair. He smiled shyly,

"You ready to do this?" he asked. She nodded, "Good. Maybe some of your confidence will rub off on me," She smiled,

"Are you ready?" Sarth asked as he walked up to them, two men by his side,

"Yeah," Link said. The two men walked between them and over to the double doors,

"Alright. Let us begin. Good luck, and have fun," he said, before walking off,

"Where is he going?" Link asked, walking the rest of the way to her,

"To introduce us," She answered, in her whispery voice,

"Zel, I've got to warn you. I'm really not that much of a dancer," he ran his hand through his hair, messing it up slightly,

"Don't worry. Just follow my lead, but make it look like I'm following you," she said,

"But-"

The crowd in the adjacent room was suddenly quieted,

"Introducing Princess Zelda of Hyrule, and her fiancée, the great hero Link of Hyrule," Sarth's voice came from the other side of the door.

Zelda put her arm through Link's as the crowd erupted into applause,

"Here we go," Link said, taking a deep breath.

The two men opened the doors.
