A few weeks later, Thomas was fully healed from his encounter with the Predator. The Hive had been regularly feeding him through a special part of the cocoon and checking his wounds while he healed. Now that he was back to full strength, he was training with Nevlinae. She was going easy on her brother because the confrontation with the Predator has left a few permanent stars across his face and body. The worst one was a deep cut across his stomach. The only scar he had on his head was a diagonal one across his face from the left side of his forehead to his right cheek, but it wasn't deep. Flaitheas regarded it as a symbol of strength. Most of her experienced children had cuts and wounds. Nevlinae had scratches across her ribs and her mate Syxils (Pronounced six-ills) had part of his bottom right back tube missing. After a few hours of training, Thomas needed to rest. He sat in Flaitheas' chamber and ate a fresh piece of meat. Suddenly he heard something like grunting and shouting. Soon Dril'ik, a young Xenomorph, arrived with a struggling human over his shoulder. The human was kicking her legs and punching his back. She even pulled his tail and shouted at him to put her down
"Put me down this instant!!! I will not be a host!!!", the human screamed. A small tag fell from her neck and Thomas picked it up. It read "Jessica Thompson. Relatives: Dexter Matthews (husband), Thomas Matthews (Brother in law)". Thomas was surprised at the fact his sister in law was alive.
"Put her down please", Thomas asked the Xenomorph and they placed Jessica down. Jessica looked at Thomas, and soon recognised him.
"Thomas?", Jessica asked, unsure if her eyes deceived her. She touched Thomas' shoulder and Rosey hissed a little.
"Jessica?", Thomas asked. He couldn't think of words to describe this feeling of reunion
"I thought you were dead", the two of them said at once. Flaitheas was confused.
"Thomas who is this human?", Flaitheas asked him. Thomas looked at his mother
"This is Jessica. My sister in law. She married my biological brother when I was younger, before I was abducted and in that lab you found me in", he explained. Jessica stammered. She didn't know what the giant creature was saying
"Thomas, how can you understand these creatures?", she asked. She didn't understand much.
"I was brought here and Mother connected my mind with hers. She raised me when she rescued me from the lab.", Thomas explained. Jessica was confused. Flaitheas lowered her head and Jessica felt a click in her head
"Can you hear me?", Flaitheas' voice spoke in Jessica's mind. Jessica was shocked, so much that she almost fainted. Thomas caught her and held her gently
"I'll find a spot to take her for her to rest", Thomas said to Flaitheas who nodded in understanding. She'd need to teach her children that Jessica was part of them now. And she'd also need to instruct the eggs not to hatch near Jessica. Not to mention the males looking for a mate. Rosey followed Thomas and saw him gently placing Jessica on a bed of furs for her to rest on. The two mates headed to their bed of furs nearby to rest as well. Thomas would need his strength and Rosey wanted to make sure he was alright. She loved him with all her mind, body and soul. To her, Thomas was everything she wanted. To lose him would be worse than death.
