"i see that your plan is going smoothly so far." daniel comments as he sees the boy walk out the campus with a slick smile. "indeed." he boasts. just as if on queue, saejin came out of the school with a few advanced booklets and extra worksheets she picked up from the library. she was a studious girl and enjoyed spending her time focusing on improving her grades.
"hey!" kuan lin immediately seizes the opportunity and his friends listen attentively. "want to catch a movie later?" he dove into the question so quickly, saejin was taken aback.
saejin adjusted her mouth mask, clearing her throat. her asthma that day wasn't looking so good, so she wasn't taking the risk. "i can't, i've got a few things i have to finish." she answers respectfully. it was a little tug on kuan lin's ego. "maybe the friday after that?" kuan lin continued to walk with her down the sidewalk, despite his house being literally the opposite way they were leading to.
"listen," she softly chuckles. "i'm really not up to those things." she shrugs, stopping to glance at the tall boy. "i mean — yeah." he exhales, "i get it," kuan lin put up a smile.
"see you." she waves, leaving him standing there quietly. "see you." he glances at how far she had already gotten from him, and tosses his keys in the air with a broad release of his breath.
