The kits tumbled after a sandy moss ball. BrackenKit on the other paw was next to her mother, laying under the thick trunk of the palm trees. The golden tabby queen nosed her kit up from dozing off. "BrackenKit, my lovely, wake up." Her words went through the kit's ears softly. Her amber eyes opened, and she gaped her mouth, revealing her teeth. She shook her fur and started to lay down again, but she was held up by her mother's huge golden paw. "Mama!" BrackenKit whined, shoving herself next to Talon's feather soft fur again. Talon grasped her scruff gently and nudged her forward, purring. "Go play with other kits, I'm not going anywhere." She meowed gently, licking her head.
BrackenKit let out a groan and then padded over to her brother, who was crouched, and looking determined. Almost immediately, he bunched his hindquarters and leaped into the air, kicking up sand and caught the moss ball by a whisker. He landed, almost crashing into the sea weed nearby. "Ha! Got it, BatKit! I. Proved. You. Wrong!" He stuck his tongue out for a second, and waved his tail. "I bet you-" IvyKit landed on him roughly. BrackenKit sighed. Don't they even like the shade? It's hot out here! She thought. ThornKit smirked and dodged to the side as IvyKit tumbled onto BatKit who was running. The brown tabby kit tumbled onto the sand with a thump. "Ow!" IvyKit burst into a squeaking laugh.
"Don't laugh at your brother like that!" A snap of anger from EagleSnout sounded. BrackenKit froze, the sun beating on her pelt. IvyKit was looking at her father with slight fear. "I-I wasn't!" She wailed. EagleSnout snarled. "Don't deny it, IvyKit. Say sorry to your brother now!" EagleSnout glared at his kit. IvyKit was shaking as she padded over to her brother. "S-Sorry BatKit.." FallenHeart padded over to her mate, her gaze pleading. "Stop that, EagleSnout! Their just playing, your the one who should be saying sorry." She snapped. EagleSnout opened his mouth to continue, but FallenHeart went on. "This is no way to treat your kits, especially in front of others." She meowed. EagleSnout raised his chin. "Even though I'm IvyKit's father, doesn't mean I have to love her." He growled. Everything fell silent. BrackenKit pressed against ThornKit, shaking. Oh no! She thought. BrackenKit stepped forward. "Stop fighting! It was a accident!!" She screamed. EagleSnout whipped his large head towards BrackenKit. He spat out each word like poison. "You don't understand, you fleabag! Your just a filthy rouge like your mother and father!" He snarled. BrackenKit squeaked, jumping back. FallenHeart bared her teeth and spat some words at EagleSnout, then ran out of the camp. Oh StarClan, what is this coming to?
