backstory

         Highschool is always a competitive place, whether for grades or popularity. Everyone was against someone for something, but it was even worse being one of the top actresses of LaGuardia. I'm a senior, and best known for my acting. Always the lead in plays and school performances. Sounds all fine till you bring up my biggest competition, Timothee Chalamet. Also known as the best actor in my grade. Never once have I had a conversation with the guy and I have no intent to do such thing. He was popular, everyone knew him. Me, on the other hand, acting was just about the only thing I excelled in. I'm decent at school, no valedictorian but not horrible. But my people skills were my worst problem. Being an actress you'd think I would have learned how to be more confident around people, after performing infront of hundreds, but nope.

"Y/N!" I turn around to see my best friend.

"Hey y/bf/n!" I smile at her and she looks up at me all giddy. Y/bf/n and I had been bestfreidns for years. She was one of the only person I felt as if I could be myself around.

"I heard that we are going to be doing Romeo and Juliet for this years new play" She smirks and my eyes go wide.

"You're kidding me" I say my eyes still wide and she shakes her head.

"Nope, this might be your chance to find a cute boy to date!" She smiled and I shook my head at her.

"Y/bf/n , are you sober? I think you are confused, its me you are talking to" I tell her sarcastically and she just rolls her eyes.

"You are literally going to find the Romeo to your Juliet" She says and I laugh.

"Lets just hope my role is tree number one then, because thats not happening" we both walk into the auditorium and our regular day of acting begins.

"Okay so as many of you have probably heard, we are putting on Romeo and Juliet!" The teacher exclaims and I hear girls behind me squeal. Cringing I look over at Y/bf/n who is laughing at my reaction.

"Oh my gosh, Timothee is gonna be Romeo! I have to be Juliet!" I hear another girl say behind me and I snort a laugh. I look over at Timothee who is sitting a couple seats down from me. He is listening intently to our teacher.

He is cute, i'll give that to him.

"Y/n" I hear my name being called by the teacher. My eyes shooting to meet her gaze.

"I'm assuming you will be going out for the role of Juliet" She asks me. Nodding, she smiles handing me the script.

"and Timothee, you for Romeo?" she asks and he nods. I watch as she hands him his script. Giving her a quick 'thank you', his eyes wander to mine. Looking away quickly, I could feel his gaze on me.

"Y/n" Y/bf/n says quietly.

"Yes" I say turning to her.

"Timothee is staring" She says and I nod looking down at my phone.
