Accidental Vampire

Zyla pants out of breath. She had been rereading all of her books trying to find out what she had read about Nova's unique eye color. Zyla says, "My book says that it's possible to be born with vampire genes yet not be a vampire." Zyla puts the book up on a divider table thing between the thrones. The books read 'inde Lamian ex sanguine percussus', (in Latin translates to; born of the blood of a vampire then bitten.) Then underneath in English has a prophecy.

The vampire who doesn't feed at birth will when turned to be stronger than any other.
Unique features reveal the power of the one who possesses it.

Zyla says, "Born a vampire and then turned into one. That means her ancestry has vampires in it and their bloodline has vampire blood, but not enough to actually be one. When she turned that must have kickstarted the genes she already carried and doubled her strength." King Christian asks, "How do we know this is true?" Queen Elouise says, "We could look into her heritage, or we could simply take a blood sample. I'm sure we could have someone analyze it." King Christian says, "It is settled then. Zyla will have Theo ask to take a sample of her blood and we will have a trustworthy scientist analyze it for us." Elouise and Zyla nod in agreement. Zyla says before walking off, "Goodnight mother. Goodnight father." Zyla walked out wondering how she's going to convince Theo to ask Nova.

~~~~~~The next night~~~~~~

The whole day Zyla had been preparing to ask Theo. Meanwhile, Theo and Nova had been hardcore training, and Nova had been hardcore kicking his ass. Nova's even faster than Theo at vamp speeding. Just a couple of days as a vampire and she's already faster than someone born with their fangs.

Theo says frustrated, "No Zyla. I'm not going to freak her out." Zyla pleads, "Oh come on big brother. She's such an understanding person. Have you ever thought about her feelings?" Theo says defensively, "I have, but you are here asking me to ask for her blood to be tested on like some lab rat. She's tearing herself apart from that she can't fit in, but I don't think this is the way to do it." Zyla pleads again, "Please just do it. Like you said she hates how people look at her. At least help her be looked at with respect other than disgust." Theo sighs and pauses a while before saying, "Fine. I'll do it, but it's only for her benefit. I just want her to see herself the way I do." Zyla says before leaving, "Thank you, big brother."

Theo thinks to himself all night. He had gotten an iPod Shuffle and earbuds for her to download her music onto and listen to. He can't help but think that she's going to think he's just trying to butter her up with it. The timing of him having to ask her for blood was terrible. Meanwhile, part of Nova had trouble sleeping feeling Theo's stress through their bond. She may not know it's the bond, but it is.

Ten a.m. and Theo wakes up. He fell asleep in thought. He groggily tries to turn his alarm clock off. His hand flew down on the alarm clock and it falls to the floor. Theo groans as he hears it fall and forces himself to get up and retrieve it. He now being wide awake ruins his chances of continuing his date with his bed. He gets dressed and walks over to Nova's room with the iPod Shuffle. He knocks on the door and she opens up after a couple of seconds.

Theo walks in and plops down on her bed. Nova says, "Your hair looks sexy all messy like that." Theo says not really caring, "I thought I brushed it." He tilts his head to the side a little. He says almost smirking, "You just said I'm sexy." Nova puts a hand on her hip and sasses, "I said your hair looks sexy. Your body is okay I guess." Theo says jokingly, "Rude."

Theo looks down at his shoes. Nova bends down a little to get her face in his line of sight. Nova asks, "What are you thinking about?" Theo says, "There's this thing I have to ask you and I have to ask you on the same day I got you a present. I really don't want you to think I'm trying to butter you up." Nova says, "Well ask me the question first and then give me your present." Theo hesitantly says, "My parents are looking into why you are different, and.....they kinda want a blood sample from you. So will you give them some of your blood?"

Nova says, " I don't know why you are worrying. Of course, I will silly." Theo rubs his neck embarrassed he thought it was a big deal. Nova says, "But thanks for being considerate." She gives him a kiss on the check. Theo blushes more. Nova says, "Don't you have a present for me." Theo pulls out the iPod Shuffle, and Nova smiles. Theo says, "I figured
since you can't have a phone doesn't mean you can't listen to your music." Nova hugs Theo, "Thank you." Nova stands there hugging him for a while, not really wanting to let go. She pulls away and sets the iPod on her nightstand.

Theo says laying on Nova's bed, "Since it's Sunday we don't have training which is a blessing today. I'm really tired, and a little sore." Nova smirks and teases, "Oh is someone hurting from the brutal ass-kicking they received yesterday?" Theo throws a pillow at her and she catches it. Nova says, "Ya know....your hair does look really good like that. I know I said it earlier but I'm not kidding it's a real turn-on." The speeds in front of her and says, "Really now." Nova nods her head a small bit. They fall back into a lustful stare.

After a minute Theo says, "I really want to kiss you right now, but I'm saving that for another time. I'm also very tired I may just steal your bed." Nova says, "You should take a nap. I'll give you an hour and then meet me in the common room" Theo nods in response and he leaves to take a nap.

Nova looks through the iPod and sees Theo has already downloaded a few songs. She recognizes a few she knows and listens to the ones she doesn't. Nova decides to go to the common room 30 minutes early and puts her uniform on.

The common room is packed with people. Nova on the last day has acquired two new friends besides Astrid and Zyla. A girl named Moira, she's a bit of a nut. And Alec, who is very gay for Chris Pratt and Tom Holland.

This is how she met them. Moira came up to her and introduced herself as the mad hatter and Alec was slugging along telling her not to scare people. Then Moira took off her shoe and started hitting Alec with it.

Nova scans the common room for some common faces. She sees Moira and Alec in a full-fledged conversation on the far side of the common room. As Nova gets closer she hears Moira say, "I'm telling you he is perfection, and he's so funny. I just want to sink my fangs into him." Alec says, "I'm agreeing with you he's a good looking and funny man. I'm just saying I wouldn't mind if he and Tom Holland hook up in a movie of their own." Nova questions what they are talking about and also tries to hold back a laugh. Nova asks, "Who are we talking about this time?" Alec does that hand thing when they put their wrist out. Alec says, "We are talking about Ryan Reynolds and how fine he is. I'm also telling this swine that I would really love it if he and Tom Holland had their own movie as Spider-Man and Deadpool that has a little bit of spider pool in it if ya know what I mean by that."

Nova lets out a laugh. Nova says, "I've literally known you like what 20 hours and I already love you guys." Moira chimes in with, "How can you not? I'm very entertaining. He's also entertaining, but only because it's really funny when he talks about Chris Pratt." Alec looks over at Moira and says, "Don't even get me started on that hunk of a man. Great now I have images. The fact I'm getting a boner from the images is your fault I hope you know." Moira says, "Yea yea."

Zyla out of the blue walks up. Zyla says to Nova, "Oh glad to see you've found the other half of my friend circle." Nova says, "You guys are friends?" Zyla says, "Yea we go way back to when they first came here. They are actually both children of a few of our guard detail. They've been here for about 7 years now." Nova lets out a small 'cool'. Zyla then says, "Can I talk to you alone for a second?" Nova nods and walks off to the hallway with Zyla.

Zyla says, "I was wondering when you wanted to get the blood sample taken. That is if you agreed to do it." Nova looks at the clock in the hallway. She still has a good 10 minutes before she meets Theo. Nova says, "Uh yeah, can we make it quick though. I'm supposed to be meeting Theo here in 10 minutes." Zyla says, "Yea. Follow me." Zyla vamp speeds away and Nova quickly and without ease catches up.
