Shayne spun to face the voice. A man was leaning against the wall, masked in the shadows, his head bent so that his hat covered all his features. The only thing that Shayne could make of him was that he was far taller than your average man, and twice as muscular. A lit cigar was in his mouth, making smoke billow into the sky.

"Who are you?" he asked.

The man ignored him. "My dog could uphold the law better than this town's excuse of a sheriff. He's on the Randy Bandit's payroll."

"And?" Shayne had a bad feeling about this man. Something that made his stomach turn. "What am I supposed to do about that?"

A chuckle escaped the man's lips as he stepped out of the shadows, raising his head. He was an attractive man, with a soft face and strikingly platinum-blonde hair. But that wasn't what caught Shayne's attention the most; it was the colours of his outfit. Blue and white.

Which could only mean one thing; this man was a Cowbae.

"It means that you'll have to start looking for... other methods," the man grinned. He had the crooked smile of a trickster.
