It was a week after Maine has given birth to their third child. And like the usual, Maine's mom would stay with her for a week or two.
From the birth of Madison and Mason, she has been experiencing the "baby blues". Never in Nanay May's history have she experienced this during her pregnancy with her kids. The doctor advised that there would be someone to guide Maine in the process.
Richard just got home from work. He decided to take a leave to be right beside his wife. As he was racing up the stairs, he caught up with Nanay May who was bringing a tray of merienda.
"Nanay!" He paid respect to her mother-in-law.
"Oh, Rj. Buti nakauwi ka na." Nanay placed the tray in the table near the study area.
"Kumusta po ang asawa ko?"
"Ayun, medyo tahimik pa. Ayaw lumabas eh. Gusto bantayan 24-7 yung bunso niyo. Siya nga pala, bakit ang aga mo?"
"Ito po talaga dapat ang usual na uwi ko. Kaya lang this past few weeks, nag-overtime po ako."
"Rj, anak. Huwag ka masyadong nag-ooverwork. Hindi ba less na dapat ang taping niyo?"
"Opo, less naman na. Kaya lang nagrequest po ako na iparush ang scenes ko since patapos na ang teleserye. At luckily tapos na po lahat ng scenes ko. Tsaka bumabawi po ako."
"Bumabawi?"
"Opo, kasi naka-leave po ako for a month. Gusto kong bumawi kay Maine after all her struggles. Nagiguilty na nga po ako eh."
"Naku, napakasweet mo pa rin talaga, ano? Oh, siya. Huwag kang maguilty. Wala namang may kasalanan na pinagdadaanan niya ito eh. Sadyang part lang siguro kapag bagong nanay."
"Eh pero hindi po ba dapat sa kambal lang nangyari yun? Bakit po nagtuloy-tuloy?"
"Sabi ng doktor, nagtrigger ata or parang nasanay siya. Kasi nahirapan kasi siya noon sa pag-aalaga sa kambal. Ang kulit din kasi ayaw magpahanap ng yaya eh."
"Alam niyo naman po 'yang anak niyo. Kapag kaya niya, di siya magpapatalo."
"Ganun talaga. O, siya. Ikaw na ang magdala ng merienda sa asawa mo. Maliligo muna ako ha?"
"Sige po, Nay. Sobrang thank you po talaga!"
"Walang problema, anak."
Nanay already made her way to the guest room and Richard left his bag at the study area and carried the tray of food. He came to a slightly opened door of their bedroom and he saw Maine carrying Meigann trying to make her sleep.
"Anak naman eh, matulog ka na please? Pagod na ako..."
Richard carefully walks behind Maine and places the tray on their table. He kisses his wife on the cheek from behind.
"Ay anak ng!"
"Hi, mahal!"
"Hi, Rj. Pasensya ka na ah."
"Mahal, akin na si bunso."
"Ha?"
"Ako na ang magpapatulog sa kanya. Sige na nandiyan sa table yung merienda mo. Kumain ka na."
Maine had an insisting look that she wants to let her baby to sleep but as she looked at her husband, she knows that she needs to follow. She gives their child to Daddy and sat down from their bed and ate. She looks at her husband carrying their child. In a span of seconds, Richard already made Meigann fall to sleep. He placed the baby on the crib and sat beside his wife. Maine suddenly bursted in tears.
"Oh, mahal? Bakit ka umiiyak?"
"Eh kasi *sob*, bakit ikaw? *sob* Napatulog mo agad si bunso? *sob* Eh ako, kanina pa ako hele nang hele walang nangyayari?"
"Mahal, wala yan sa bilis ng pagpapatulog sa anak. Namiss lang siguro ng anak natin yung amoy ng Daddy niya."
"...."
"Mahal, I'm sorry."
"*wipes her tears* Bakit ka nagso-sorry?"
"Eh kasi puro na lang ako trabaho eh."
"Hindi mo naman kasalanan yun eh. Alam ko naman nagtataping ka para rin sa family natin. Hindi ba nagsacrifice na nga ako magstop sa showbiz para naman matutukan ko ang mga bata."
"Pero with what you did, masyado mo naman sinestress sarili mo. And I feel guilty kasi wala akong nagawa during your pregnancy days simula pa sa kambal."
"It was my choice. Tsaka masarap kasi sa feeling na nakakasama mo lumaki yung mga anak mo eh."
"..."
"Uy, wag ka ng malungkot, Rj. *touches his cheeks* Masaya ako, okay?"
"*holds her hands from his cheeks* Ngayon, babawi ako sa'yo. Wala na akong work. Tapos na taping ko!"
"Talaga? Eh diba may EB pa ikaw?"
"Nagfile ako ng one month leave."
"One month?? Para saan?"
"Para makabawi sa inyo. Sa inyo ng mga anak ko. Gusto ko naman maging Daddy sa kanila. Hindi yung pag-uwi ko lang sila makakasama and madalas, tulog na sila. Tsaka gusto ko naman makasama ang asawa ko. Namimiss na kita, mahal."
"Awwww, ang sweet naman ng asawa ko. *kiss sa lips*"
"Mmmm, ang sarap naman! Isa pa nga? *kiss sa lips*"
They were disturbed by a loud double knock on their door.
"MOMMY!! DADDY!!!"
"Shhhhhhh. Tulog ang kapatid niyo, kambal."
"Ay, sorry po, Daddy."
The twins paid respects to their parents and kissed them as well. Maddie sat on her mom while Mace sat on his dad. They just got back home from their last day of preschool.
"Daddy! Last day na namin kanina!"
"Oh, yes, Mommy! Sobrang saya!"
"Mukhang masaya nga ang mga panganay ko ah!"
"At magiging mas masaya pa sila sa surprise ko!"
"Surprise? Anong surprise, Daddy?" The twins said in unison.
Richard went outside to get his stuff from the study area. He took out a his passport and there were 4 tickets inserted.
Madison and Mason ran towards their dad and took one ticket each.
"MALAYSIA??"
"Mahal, ano yan?" Maine went beside her husband to see the tickets.
"Well, as a treat for my family! We are going to Malaysia!"
The twins and Maine were so excited for the surprise. To their surprise, Meigann was awaken from the noise and cried. But despite that, the family was jumping for joy and ecstatic. Maine was so happy to see that her family is growing to be joyful one. Richard, on the other hand, is ready to surprise his family for more. Their family is their love.
