A/n: I did a bit of a time jump to the end of summer

Y/n Pov:

Summer came and went with some letters from Thalia and lots of cleaning, hunting, and tracking. But soon enough the train was on its way and I had to return to human life. Over the months' Hagrid and I had grown close and he became a father figure to me he helped me get through the loss of my parents and I will forever be thankful for him. As I was reflecting I barely noticed the train chugging towards us it wasn't till Hagrid patted my shoulder I snapped out of my thoughts.

Y/n: "I should go Hagrid" he nods and hugs me discreetly 

Ha: "Come by fer tea once in a while plus I kner  Fang would love to hunt with ye again" you laugh and head up to the castle you had gotten the password early and entered the Ravenclaw common room and into your room. You begin unpacking your things when you heard the door open and the pleasant Scottish accent of Cho Chang

Ch: "Hello Y/n"

Y/n: "Hey Cho good holiday?"

Ch: "Oh yeah"

Y/n: "that's good" I smile and help her unpack, she was nice and once she finished unpacking the small group of girls and I went to watch the sorting. 

No One's Pov:

The group of four entered the great hall and sat at the Ravenclaw table three of the girls had broke off and sat next to their friends, sure all the girls shared a room but y/n was still very shy, her only friends were Thalia now a fifth-year prefect and Hermione Granger a second year Gryffindor so she sat with her friends at their house table. Y/n was rather lonely but was happy to see all the new faces. In fact, those new faces entered the great hall in a big line, Y/n was super excited because she had never been to a sorting ceremony Y/n had missed last years because she met all the teachers so this was all new to y/n. As the first years lined up Professor Mcgonagall the Transfiguration teacher quieted the hall and took out an old hat and stole, the stole was normal wood but the hat was something else. The hat looked to be centuries old it was battered and stained with a couple patches on the side of the hat, there were wrinkles on the front of the hat that looked like a face and it had a very pointed top. The wrinkles on the front of the hat burst to life and began to sing, Y/n along with the first years let out a gasp as the hat continued to sing a cheerful song.

Once the hat finished everyone clapped and the sorting began, each name was called and put into one of the four houses, each table erupted with cheers as they added a new member. The names drew on till Professor McGonagall had made it to the letter L

PM: "Lovegood, Luna" a fair-headed girl bounced up the stairs and sat on the stole, her ghostly blue eyes reflected in the golden owl stand but she smiled brightly.

"Oh yes, this is easy RAVENCLAW"  the girl jumped down from the stole and bounced over the Ravenclaw table as they all clapped and shouted, Luna looked around the table and decided to sit next to Y/n. Y/n said a simple hello and the two stayed quiet and watched the last of the sorting.

PM: "Weasly, Ginny" a small girl walked up the stairs and sat on the stole Professor McGonagall lowered the hat onto her flaming redhead

"Ah, the youngest Weasly yes I know exactly what to do GRYFFINDOR" The girl sighed in relief and made her way to the table, Y/n watched her as she stopped beside Hermione, y/n tried to hear what the two were saying but it was too loud and their exchange was short but once she sat down Professor McGonagall rolled up the thing of parchment she had been reading from she picked up the hat and stole and walked away. Professor Dumbledore sat up and walked over to his stand calling the feast to begin and with a wave of his hand the plates filled and everyone began filling their plates Y/n smiled as Luna gasped at the sudden food.

Y/n: "Pretty cool huh?"

Lu: "Yeah"

Y/n: "I'm Y/n" y/n held out her hand Luna smiled and took it

Lu: "Cool name, my name is Luna what year are you?"

Y/n: "I'm a second year, but trust me you'll love it here" Y/n added before filling her plate, Luna followed and the two ate in silents. After they finished the two talked as desert replaced the plates, again y/n filled her plate to the brim with all the treats she could reach once she formed her mountain she turned to Luna and noticed she hadn't chosen anything

Y/n: "Try the pudding it is amazing" Y/n placed a small mound of it on Luna's plate, Luna scooped some up and ate it diligently her blue eyes widen and she began to pile her plate with the pudding, Y/n laughed and ate her mountain of sweets making pleasant conversation between forkfuls.

  They finished and waited with their belly's full for further instructions, and sure enough, Dumbledore sat up and called the feast to an end and told the Prefect to lead their houses to the common rooms Thalia jumps up from her spot and takes charge all the table rise and left the great hall in drove each house bleed into the other. Y/n was walking with Luna but casually looking around the crowd for the familiar bushy brown hair of Hermione Granger but couldn't find her in the mess of kids but y/n saw the back of Thalia's head.

Y/n: "Sorry Luna I'm going to go look for someone I'll be right back" she nodded and y/n pushed through the crowd and make it to the front of the group

Y/n: "Hey Thalia," Y/n said softly she looks at me and smiles

Th: "Hey Y/n, I'm glad you're up here I wanted to know what you thought of Luna Lovegood? I saw you talking to her"

Y/n: "She's nice I like her"

Th: "that's great because she's going to room with you since I'm a prefect I've got a different room but I promise our secret is safe" she winks again and turns around waving her hand.

Th: "RAVENCLAW THIS WAY" she turns and another wave of kids push in and y/n gets lost in the sea of Ravenclaw finding yourself back near Luna, never the less the Ravenclaws entered and went to their rooms.
