This Is Why We Fight

*Third Person's POV*

  Nurse Gloria leaves to attend other patients, and leaves behind a panicking Jade. Thoughts of anger and desperation fill her mind, the fear of losing Tori ripping her heart to pieces. She holds and squeezes the girl's hand and kisses the back of it, a teardrop falling on top of it.  

  She feels a hand on her shoulder and turns around to find Decker standing in front of her, her eyes matching her own, both puffy and red from crying. She stands up and hugs the detective tightly, crying into her shoulder

"I can't lose her" she speaks, face still pressed  against the woman's shoulder "She can't-

"She won't" a sad but certain Chloe assures the young girl "She's the strongest person we know, and she won't stop fighting." She kisses the girl's forehead "I promise"
Chloe gets out of the embrace and takes another look at Tori's figure, taking in how broken and defeated she looks, even while being unconscious. She takes a deep breath and heads towards the door.

"Where are you going?" Jade asks

"I'm going to catch the jerk who put Tori in this place" the detective answers with determination and leaves through the door, leaving Jade to her thoughts

"I should call them" she thinks

The girl then pulls out her phone and dials Beck's number. It rings two times before he picks up

"Hello? Jade?" Beck sounds tired, but then again it was barely nine in the morning and they all had a really long night.

"Hey, uhm" she gulps and tries to choose her words very carefully "We, uhm, we found her" she states and immediately a loud thump can be heard on the other side of the phone

"WHAT? YOU FOUND HER?" Beck shouts in surprise

"Yes, the detective and I found her and hey, did you just fall on the-

"WHERE?" He shouts once again

"Kaiser Permanente" she answers while rubbing her ear "Stop shouting Beck, it's hurting my ears" she mumbles in annoyance

"KAISER WHAT?" He shouts again, clearly he doesn't understand that putting someone on speaker doesn't mute the microphone

"It's a bloody hospital, jerk" she barks at him "I'll send you my location but if you shout at me again I'll punch you so hard in the face your teeth will come out of your ass" she whisper screams and hangs up the phone

After typing angrily and sending Beck their location, she puts her phone away and takes a seat next to the hospital bed, her hands gently caressing the girl's stitched up and bruised arm coming down all the way to her hand. Her beautiful soft hand, curiously that hand didn't have a single bruise, so it was still warm and smooth. It was still her hand, the owner of the gentlest touch and the warmest rubs, the one she yearned to hold for weeks and have her chills every time it touched her. A small smile made its way to Jade's face.

"I know.." she starts but struggles with her words "I know you'll fight Tor, because that's what you do, but I want you to win. I want you to beat this and.." she brings her face closer to the girl's "come back to me" she kisses her forehead and sits back down, never stopping her caress on the girl's hand.

Not long after Jade could hear footsteps coming towards them and looks up, and there stood everyone. From our parents to all of their friends, every single one of them shocked and broken by the sight in front of them. Saying that they were crying would be a serious understatement. They had desperation, guilt, sorrow and regret plastered all over their faces, their tears replacing the anger and the crave for revenge that kept them awake and alert throughout the last 24 hours.
