I walked downstairs into the kitchen where my parents were cooking lunch.

"Everett is about to come over." I announced as I sat in the barstool

"What are you guys doing, because I promised Holland a girls day with just me and her." My mom asked me

"Probably just gonna swim, I'm eighteen I don't need a babysitter mom." I reminded her

My Dad shrugged, "Maybe it is time that we've had the talk."

"I thought we did that when I was sixteen?" I asked them

"Well, now you have a boyfriend and you guys are about to go on a trip together." My mom justified

I groaned, "With friends, mom. We're not having sex and I would never do something so stupid that would jeopardize my career."

"Yes, but shit happens." My Dad added

"Yea, when you Dad and I were your age one thing led to another and you know. And apparently same thing happened to your grandparents at the same age. " My mom continued

I made a face, "Oh my gosh, maybe it's because you and grandma were both dating football players. Try this again with Holland."

"But seriously Grier, you're eighteen now and we trust you. Maybe now would be the time to go on birth control or something." My mom suggested

"Okay, mom, I don't wanna talk about this anymore. What are you and Holland doing today?" I asked her

My mom explained to me how they were going to yoga, then to get their nails done, and then to lunch. She also promised me that we would do something all together before I left for California.

I ate one of the breakfast sandwiches that my parents made and drank a smoothie courtesy of my mom.

I helped my Mom pick out a cute outfit for yoga with Holland and then I got changed into a swimsuit.

Then, I put on an old tank top before I walked downstairs to see Ev on the couch with my Dad. They were laughing and talking having a good time.

"I didn't know you were here." I started

"Oh yeah, hey." Everett said as he looked at me

"Did Mom and Holly leave out already?" I asked my Dad

He nodded, "I'm going to run down to the grocery store and maybe we can grill for lunch or dinner. You're saying right, Ev?"

"Sure." Everett agreed

My Dad got up, "Good talking to you, I'll be back in an hour or less. I think the boys are still asleep."

"Not surprised." I commented

Everett and I said goodbye to my Dad before we sat outside under the sun.

"What were y'all talking about?" I asked him as I turned on the sound system

"Just memes and stuff." Everett answered as he took off his shirt

Hot damn.

"It wasn't about sex, right?" I questioned him

Everett was silent.

I groaned.

"Just in the beginning for about five seconds." Everett admitted

"He just said 'My daughter better not be pregnant before she has a ring on her finger' and 'don't do anything stupid'." He continued

I looked at him, "I got the same talk this morning."
