Day 83. It's been 83 days since the daxamites invaded our cities and took lives that didn't deserve to be taken. I watched countless family members be shot in front me, their blood spilled for meaningless causes. The kryptonian army was defeated, there is no source of protection now at all for us. Soldiers march up and down streets waiting for someone to be spotted. Then killed. I've manage to survive these 83 days but dying on krypton is inevitable. The Daxamites burnt our stores and our farms, no source of food. Half the people dead have died from starvation.

"We have to move soon." Our leader Laan said. His voice was tired and weary. His clothes were stained with blood and he had been shot twice in the arm.
"Laan we are tired of moving we are sick of it. We are all injured and want to stay here." Maria said from the corner of the room.
"Do you want to die!" Laans voice raised.
"I'm better off dead. I'll slow you guys down, my leg is broken." Tears gathered in Maria's eye and spilled onto her leg.
"The soldiers are on there way over here, we have to go to the next town and hide out—" Laan began again.
"Laan you don't get it! The soldiers will eventually make their way to every part of krypton. We will die no matter what." I yelled. I was sick of running. Laan shook his head.
"Kara if only you knew what life meant to others. You wouldn't be so quick to give up."

The night had fallen and the soldiers were close. Laan and Malik were preparing to leave. I hated the old room were were in. It was in a dark ally and the door was covered my a dumpster outside, but the top of the door was still showing. I wanted to stay here anyways, I hated running more than where we were. Maria was staying back and so was her younger sister Masha who was only 12. My head was spinning with all the decisions I had to make. I wanted to give up more than anything but I knew my mother would be disappointed so I decided to go.
It was time. We said goodbye to Masha and Maria. Laan then opened the door and started pushing the dumpster so we could get out.
"Look! Look! Why is the dumpster moving!" A man yelled. Two of them started running over to the room, Guns raised.
"RUN!" Laan yelled pushing the dumpster more. He and Malik ran out the room first, I didn't run, my body didn't move I was frozen. They ran down the dark ally through the fog and disappeared into the night, one soldier after them. Two shots fired. Two thumps on the ground. Laan and Malik were dead. I gasped and fell to the ground. Tears ran down my bright red cheeks. My body shaking. I took a breath of the air and let it out, but a cry came out instead. I saw a mans shadow coming over in the distance, my vision was blurry I could hardly see. I tried to get up but my legs failed me. He raised his gun and came closer I felt the cold gun on my head.
"Hurry up and shoot her mon-el." A voice approaching us from the other end of the ally said. The other soldier was back. I fell from my knees into my side. I couldn't breathe, my body kept shaking from fright. Tears stained my face and my hair and dirt stuck to my face.
"Shoot her!" He yelled again.  Mon-el stood there, the gun hovering over the back of my head. I turned around slowly and looked up at him. His eyes were full of innocence and his hands were shaky. I stared into his eyes. His brown hair wet from sweat. He lowered the gun.
"I'm out of ammo Nick." He said looking away from my eyes. I knew he was lying, I saw him refill his gun earlier.
"Why didn't you just say so, I'll shoot her." Nick raised his gun to my head. I closed my eyes tight waiting for the shot to come and take my life away.
"No, Nick, just don't it's umm just don't." Mon-el grabbed the point if the gun. Nick hit him in the stomach with the butt of the gun then raised it at me again, it clicked and I saw him about to pull the trigger. Mon-el jumped up and tackled Nick to the ground. Nick punched him in the gut, then in the face. Blood started pouring out Mon-els nose.
"I knew you couldn't be a soldier in a war! You wuss! You couldn't kill a fly!" Nick yelled. "Why are you protecting a kryptonian!" Nick raised his gun at Mon-el.
