Chapter 4

y/n's POV

I took the day of school today. I was distraught about Liu.

He was innocent, he was just trying to protect his brother. He didn't deserve this.

"y/n?" my mum knocked on the door softly "I have some for sweetheart"

'Thanks' I sign as I take the sandwich and place it on the night stand.

"You think you can talk about it now?" She asked

I sit there for a second. Could I tell her, she was my mum, she would understand right?

I slowly nod and she comes to sit on my bed.

"What happened darling" she said soothingly

'They took Liu' I signed 'he went to Juvy'

"Oh sweetie why" she looked a bit shocked "He seemed like a nice kid"

'He was' I said 'Jeff beat up a few bullies and Liu took the blame'

"Oh i'm sorry y/n" She leaned in and hugged me.

I cry softly into her shoulder and she rubs my back softly.

I sat on my bed with my headphones in listening to my favourite song. The half eaten sandwich sat on my nightstand.

I saw my door open slightly and Charlie walked in.

I take my headphones out 'why arn't you at school?' I asked

"School finished about 30 minutes ago" she replied

I look at the time. Oh it did.

"Hey I heard what happened" She said as she took a seat next to me. "I'm really sorry"

I drop my head and let my hair cover my face.

"He'll be fine" She soothed "a year will go by fast. You'll see"

I look up and give a small smile. "Theres the y/n I love" she said with a giggle "Now mum says that dinner will be ready soon, and If you don't want some then come and tell her"

I nod and watch as she walks out as I put my headphones back in and lie down in my bed.

Soon I start to feel tired so I turn off my music and get under the covers.

I slowly fall into a deep sleep.

The next day...

"y/n" My mum was shaking me "y/n wake up todays the day"

I open my eyes and sit up. I tilt my head to show I don't understand.

"Todays Billy's birthday" she said

I close my eyes and make an annoyed face. The only reason I was going was because Charlie was Billy's girlfriend and he invited her so she pleaded Billy to let me go.

"come on" she said with a smile "this will be good for you, and Jeff will be there"

I flex my hands a bit and get ready to sign talk to her.

'Mum i don't really want to go' I sign.

"No we're all going so come on sweetie" She walked out of the room and left me to get ready.

I sit up and yawn as I stretch and walk over to my dresser.

I grab a f/c shirt and some jeans. I walk downstairs and see my mum with Charlie. They were both wearing dresses.
