Chapter Three

Demi sighed and tapped her pen back and forth on the desk. It's been two days and she still hasn't heard from the director. If the script doesn't change, that means that Demi is exactly three days away from taping the kissing scene.

"You okay Dems?" Aliyn said walking over to her.

"Yeah, just lost in thought." She replied.

Alison laughed and shook her head. "Demi, if this is about the kissing scene, don't take it personally. Just act professional. It's not a big deal." Alyson said patting her back before walking out. Demi sighed and shook her head heading out to film one of her scenes.

"You got news for me?" Demi asked the director.

"As a matter of fact, yes. I just spoke to the writers today, and they said they can't change it. Sorry, Demi, but I'm just here to direct. I'm afraid I can't do anything." He said sadly as Demi let out a sigh shaking it off as she walked on set.

"Well, guess what? This is me trying to save something that I care about?" Demi's said her lines.

"So am I!" Joe responded.

"Really, then how's it working out for you?"

"Not so great." He shook his head and went to walk away.

"Shane..." Demi said as he turned around. "You forgot your flashlight." She said quietly as Joe took it and walked out.

"Cut!" The director said clapping with a smile. "Great job guys. We already taped the song so you guys are done for today." Demi nodded and walked away, but felt someone catching up to her.

"Hey." Joe said panting.

"What do you want?" She said not really in the mood for a conversation with him.

"You're acting more rude than usual."

"Yeah, well, we have to do the kissing scene." She mumbled. Joe shook his head and chuckled. Demi arched her eyebrows in this belief. "This is isn't funny."

"I know, but you make it a big deal."

"What do you mean? You were the one yelling at Mr. D when we went to his cabin."

"Yeah, but my brothers talked me out of it. It's not a huge thing, it's made for the movie. It doesn't mean anything." He said as Demi sighed slightly.

"To think that we actually went two minutes without yelling or cursing at each other."

Joe chuckled and slowly backed up. "By the way, I'm really sorry about the Barney crap and your parents." Joe smiled and turned around making his way back on set.

Demi was in shock, but grinned. Now there's one less thing that Demi hated about Joe. She continued walking as thoughts jumbled in her head as she kept that smile that no one's ever caused in a long time. At the back of her head, there was something suspicious about Joe. There has to be something going on since he never laughed at her at all. He may have laughed at her before, but that was sarcasm.
