Today was a miserable day. Plain and simple. Temperatures were well over 100°F and just your luck, your air conditioning decided to go out.

Great.

Sweat drips off your body as you lay flat on the floor, the fan placed next to you whirling at a fast pace; but ultimately not giving you much comfort. If it wouldn't kill you, you'd have peeled off your own skin by now to get some form of coolness against your boiling flesh. Your clothes stick to your body, and each time you try to move from your place on the floor- you feel like your whole body is a sticker being peeled off the wooden planks beneath you. "...God... kill me now... or at least send me some form of comfort..." you groan out, even feeling your hot breath against the floor made you uncomfortable. You hear the front door open but don't put in the effort to lift your head.

"Yn, I'm home, I brought some..." Loki pauses, staring down at you with confusion. "Love, what are you doing?"

"Dying... AC went out..."

"So you lie on the floor instead of fixing the problem?"

"I tried... called up a professional... it's busted.... no money to buy a new one..." you tilt your head to the side and look at your boyfriend, he's wearing all black, dressed in a tank top and a pair of jeans. While he was sweating, it wasn't profusely like you— just a few beads here and there sliding down his skin. He's holding a plastic grocery bag close to his chest. "How in god's name are you alive right now? Black attracts heat like a magnet! Is Asgard always, like, a billion times hotter than here?"

"No," He says, taking a seat next to you, wiping some sweat off his brow. "I'm just built... differently... than other Asgardians..." you sit up as he hands you the plastic bag. Inside was a couple of boxes of ice cream bars.

"Thanks, but they're probably melted. There's no way they survived all the way here..." Loki smirks.

"Oh, Love. You'd be surprised..." he opens one of the boxes and takes a bar out, opening it to reveal the ice cream completely intact. He takes a bite and licks the chocolate off the corner of his mouth. He brings it closer to you. "Open." A sense of relief and comfort washes over you as you take a bite, the cold ice cream felt like bliss against your tongue.

"Oh sweet Jesus..." you breath. "How'd you get it here so cold?"

"I... have my methods."

"Well whatever you did- could you use it on me? It's hotter than the devil's anus outside!" His brows furrow.

"You've been to Sakaar?"

"What? Where the hell is Sakaar?"

"Never mind." A sigh passes your lips as you grab a bar of your own.

"So, could you?" You take a bite.

"Could I what?"

"Do whatever you did to the ice cream on me?" Loki falls quiet, gently fiddling with the wrapper of his ice cream.

"I'd prefer not to."

"Is it dangerous?"

"Well... maybe..."

"Then just try it."

"No."

"But, Loookiiii!" You whine. "It's so hot out I can barely breath! I don't care if it's dangerous, just try it on me!"

"I said NO!" He snaps, you flinch and he looks away. "...I'm sorry..."

"I-it's okay..." The both of you are quiet, nothing but the fan and the crinkling sound of your wrappers are heard.

"I'm just... afraid of what you'll think of me if I do it..." he quietly mumbles.

"Loki, nothing you do will change the way I view you. I'll accept you no matter what... for god's sake, Loki- you've killed people before, and look at us. We're dating!"

"But this is different."

"How?"

"It just is!" He sighs, running a hand through his raven hair. "I am what my people feared on Asgard..."

"Show me." He looks you in the eyes.

"Yn... please..."

"Loki," You place a hand on his cheek, gently stroking it with your thumb. "I want you to show me..."

"... Fine..." he grabs your hand, placing it in your lap. His face begins to change from a pale skin tone to blue, lighter blue markings now rest on his forehead and cheeks, while his once emerald eyes change to a deep red. You could feel the air around him cool considerably. "I never wanted you to see me like this..." he mutters. Your head tilts slightly.

"You're cold and blue, so what?"

"What do you mean, 'so what'? I'm a Jotun! A frost giant! I'm what mothers tell their children to fear!"

"And?" He seems taken aback by your response.

"And... and I um..."

"You're still you." He blinks a few times and you giggle. "I guess this explains why your hands are cold all the time."

"You... you really don't care about... this?" He motions to himself and you purse your lips.

"Nah, not really."

"You are something else." You smile.

"I prefer to be." You lean against his chest, his cold form giving you goosebumps, a sensation you nearly had forgotten with these heat waves. "This feels sooo good..." Loki begins to softly drag his fingertips across your arm, leaving little trails of frost against your skin making you shudder.

"Is that too much for you?" He asks, drawing his fingers back. You grab his hand softly, pulling it back to your exposed skin.

"Nope." Your eyes flutter shut as you nuzzle into him. "Maybe it will be in a few minutes, but for now- stay like this..." Loki leans down, planting a cold kiss against your forehead.

"As you wish, my queen..."

An: Yeah! Second chapter! This obviously takes place after Ragnarok, but (like how most of us wish and try to suppress its events) Infinity war didn't happen.

It's been pretty hot out where I live and guess who actually doesn't have AC! *melts into a puddle on the floor*
