Chapter 1 - Trainee

APRIL 2017

"Yah! Byul-ah! Where are you going again?" Somi, my bestfriend asked me.

"Japan!", i smiled, "visiting my grandma."

"Why didn't you go on March? I'll be lonely here without youuuuuuu", she singsonged as she hugged me. I just laughed and continue walking.

"How about Sungkyungie?"

"hmff! What would i do with her? She's busy training in SM!"

"You are busier though".

"That's the point! I only have few times with you guys but you'll just leave me."

"Drama",i laughed.

"Ugh!"

"If you're free next week then let's go out".

"As if! Yah! Are you forgetting that it's your monthly performance with your sajangnim?"

"Oh. Yeah!"

"Yah! Pabo!"

"How about after our evaluation?"

"I'll just pester sungkyung then. I can't take it. I need to go out!". I laughed at her hysterics.

"I'll go then. I must not be late. I don't want to be scolded by unnie."

"Arasseo! Aja! Annyeong!"

"Neh", i waved goodbye and left with my driver.

>at dance practice room<

"Yah! Byul! You're late again! You'll be the one who will clean after practice. Hahahaha", said by choon hee, my co-trainee.

"Wae? I already cleaned yesterday."

"New rules. Implimented today😝"

"Aish! This yeoja! I have a flight tomorrow. I have to go home earlier."

"Unnieeee, byul won't cleeean!!!!!", she shouted.

"Aniii! I should have been informed with the new rules!"

"These kids! Yah! Let's start practicing already. Sajangnim would check the progress of our performance today.", hae won unnie said.

"whaaat?!!!", we both shouted.

"palli!"

*At the middle of practice, sajangnim arrived.

"Annyeong hasaeyo, sajang-nim!"

"Sajang-nim! Sajang-nim!", we started chanting it in funny ways.

"Are you ready, kids?", YG sajngnim asked.

"deh!", we all replied.

Yes, I am currently 1st year highschool student together with my bestfriends, Somi and Sungkyung. And yes, I am a 4 year YG trainee whereas Somi is a jyp trainee while Sungkyung is an SM trainee.

In YG, Choon hee and I is the maknae line, born on 2001. With hae won unnie as the eldest, born on 1999. Also Soo jin unnie and young mi unnie born on 1999. We are team of 5 and we don't even know when can we debut. Our unnies already have their successful debut but we know that YG entertainment is not in good condition to make us debut sooner. Everyday, we are asking if we can even debut or be kicked out. It's our teamwork and hard work that make us still YG trainees.

Afterchecking our performance, sajangnim immediately left. We are currently cleaning our practice room.

"Tell me why am i with you cleaning also?!", Choon hee exclaimed.

"cause you are a pabo and had irritated sajangnim again",i laughed.

"It's not only me who chanted it! You have the loudest voice!"

"Well, surprise! I'm here with you😁".

"But this is your supposed to be punishment for being late!".

"whatever, hahahahha!".

It's a routine for us. We always have a certain chant on sajangnim. Everytime we see him, we just automatically say the chant "sajangnim". Even jisoo unnie announced it on national TV. I suddenly miss unnie who always laugh with us and do silly things together with us. They are usually on main building now after having a debut while we are still here in old YG building as trainees.

"yah! Answer your phone! When will you change that. They have new songs already for god's sake.", chung hee.

"hello, eomma, i'll go home for a while.....neh....neh...neh", i ended the call.

"Palli! Mom will eat me alive again!"

"Hahahha. She'll eat you more if she'll know what you did due to your obsession to BTS."

"It's not an obsession! I'm just a fan who needs to experience going to a concert for once, okay."

"Abroad?", she raised her brow and smirked.

" Basically it's my hometown also. So, it's not abroad."

"Yeah, yeah! Hahaha".

"You're the one to talk, exo addict! 😝"

"As if you're not a baekhyun oppa addict, duh!"

We laughed all the time while cleaning, talking about our favorite idols.

Yes, i am also an ARMY. I don't know if i can fully call my self an army. I am not a member of their fan cafe and i haven't seen them ever in personal life. I haven't been in their concerts nor fanmeeting. But i am always updated about them, active in social media just to know their schedules and buying their albums and merchs. I was a big fan of 2ne1 and Bigbang but it never pushed me to pursue a career of being an idol. I remembered once buying a GD merch when i suddenly heard of an unfamiliar hiphop song. I was hooked into it as i watched the group. They were not familiar to me. I really wanted to be a trainee with hiphop genre but i didn't want to be a trainee in YG. That's why i did not audition in any agencies. But after seeing this new group, i was determined to go at their company and auditioned as a trainee. This was on 2013, when BTS had a debut. But many things happened and i became a YG trainee on late 2014. And i think, this was the best decision i ever had. Because i met my unnies. I consider them as my family and i will do anything just for us to debut. We may not know when will that be but someday, we will also be on same stage as our sunbaes. Someday.
