I'm so sorry, Frisk

As Frisk looked up at the boy in front of him, he couldn't help but feel proud as he saw what was happening. Tears were welling up in Chara's eyes as Player stepped away from him, a pained look on his face. Player kept shouting things to Chara, telling him he was too late to save him and that it would be like old times again.

Chara, on the other hand, wasn't having it. He pushed harder and harder to regain control over his body. He was angry with Player for stealing his body, but was even angrier about Player using his body to hurt his best friend. He couldn't believe that he allowed for Player to treat him like he was nothing more than a useless brat. The desire to kill did grow in Chara's heart once again, but this time, it was aimed at himself. He hated Player, and could only assume that if he were to kill himself, there was no chance of coming back. He was sure of it.

"I'm giving you what you always wanted, Chara! You think you can take your body back from me?!" Player shouted as he began to pull at Chara's hair, desperately trying to hold on. Player liked having a body, especially one that can reset after every defeat. They weren't about to just give it up that easily. "You can't stop me, Chara! I already won!"

Once again, Chara's body pulled at his hair as he continued to step back, eventually falling forward as tears fell down his face. Chara fought hard until he squeezed his eyes shut and forced back Player to the back of his mind. When he opened his eyes again, he blinked several times before checking his body, smiling a bit as he took himself in. He did it. He took his body back. It wasn't until he looked over at his friend's limp body that his frown returned.

"I-I'm g-glad... I always kn-knew you... Could do it, Chara..." With that Frisk's eyes grew heavy before sleep overcame him. Chara rushed over to his friend, hoping for the best, but nothing happened. Frisk wasn't coming back. He wouldn't even respond to his name.

"No! Frisk, please come back! You're my best friend!" Chara held him tight, feeling Frisk's body begin to turn cold. He knew that feeling all too well. He's experienced enough death to know. Frisk was gone, trapped outside of his own body, and there was nothing he could do about it. "I never wanted this to happen to you. You said we would be together! You promised me that we'll always be together! Please, come back!"

As his tears fell down, Chara couldn't help but look around, hoping that neither he nor Player killed the entire Underground population that remained here. Unable to help himself, he did the one thing he never thought he would do again. He called out for help... But nobody came.

"I'm so sorry. This was all my fault! I never should have came in the first place." He brought Frisk close, hugging him tightly as he continued to cry. He couldn't help it. Everyone who loved him was gone. Frisk, Toriel, Asgore, Sans, everyone who could help him was dead. Everyone but... "Papyrus! Papyrus, please! I need your help!"

After a couple minutes of no answer, Chara figured that he must have scared Papyrus into running far away, meaning he was on his own. There was probably one other monster that could possible help them, but Flowey can't get out of his flower pot by himself. He would need someone to move him closer to the ground.

"I'll save you, Frisk. I-I don't know how, but I swear to you that you'll be okay." Clearing away his tears with his sleeve, Chara gently placed his friend down before standing up. He knew that there was only one other soul that could possibly help them, and that was Gaster. "Gaster, I know you can hear me. Please, help me save him! I'll do anything to fix this mess. Just please, help me save Frisk!"

"✡⚐🕆 ☼☜✌☹☹✡ 💣✌👎☜ ✌ 💣☜💧💧 ☞⚐☼ ❄☟✋💧 🏱⚐⚐☼ 👌⚐✡📪 👎✋👎☠🕯❄ ✡⚐🕆 👍☟✌☼✌✍" (You really made a mess for this poor boy, didn't you Chara?) Gaster said as he appeared right beside him, taking a look at the dead child on the ground. "☟☜ ☟✌👎 ⚐☠☹✡ 🕈✋💧☟☜👎 ❄⚐ 💧✌✞☜ ✡⚐🕆 ☞☼⚐💣 ✡⚐🕆☼ ☞✌❄☜ ⚐☞ ☜☠👎✋☠☝ 🕆🏱 ✌☹⚐☠☜ ✌☝✌✋☠." (He had only wished to save you from your fate of ending up alone again.)

Chara looked over at Gaster, unable to look at his friend as he said, "I did, and I regret it so much. Frisk is a good friend, and I was lucky to meet him. Please, is there any way I can fix this mess? Player is still inside me. I can hear him trying to claw his way out again. Is there any way I can fix this on my own?"

"✋ 💣✌✡ 😐☠⚐🕈 ⚐☞ ✌ 🕈✌✡📪 ✡⚐🕆☠☝ 👍☟✌☼✌📪 👌🕆❄ ❄☟✌❄ ☼☜✈🕆✋☼☜💧 ✌ ☹✌☼☝☜ 💧✌👍☼✋☞✋👍☜ ⚐☞ ✡⚐🕆☼ ⚐🕈☠." (I may know of a way, young Chara, but that requires a large sacrifice of your own.) Gaster watched as Chara fell to his knees now, holding Frisk's cold hand in his as he realized just how hard Frisk's death hit him. "✡⚐🕆 🕈⚐🕆☹👎 ☟✌✞☜ ❄⚐ 👎✋☜📪 👍☟✌☼✌. ✋☞ ✡⚐🕆 🕈☜☼☜ ❄⚐ 💧❄⚐🏱 🏱☹✌✡✋☠☝ ✌☠👎 ☜☼✌💧☜ ☜✞☜☼✡❄☟✋☠☝ ✡⚐🕆🕯✞☜ 👎⚐☠☜ ☟☜☼☜📪 ✋❄ 💣✌✡ ☺🕆💧❄ ☼☜💧☜❄ ❄☟✋💧 ❄✋💣☜☹✋☠☜. ☜✞☜☼✡❄☟✋☠☝ 🕈✋☹☹ ☝⚐ 👌✌👍😐 ❄⚐ ☠⚐☼💣✌☹." (You would have to die, Chara. If you were to stop playing and erase everything you've done here, it may just reset this timeline. Everything will go back to normal.)

Chara looked up at the ghost before saying, "I'm okay with dying. I have never been afraid to die before, but what will happen to me when I do die? If I die, everyone else is saved. Frisk will be saved and get back the happy ending I ruined for him, even if I simply fade away."
