When Nicotine said that we were going to fly I didn't know what I was going to expect. Yet, when Dawson and I finally arrived at Davy's tree and saw Nicotine's bloodshot eyes it evidently made sense.

"I'm not getting high with you." Cara crossed her arms as she stated with a straight face. Nicotine started to pout and gave up on Cara as he lied back down on the dead grass. I didn't mind that everyone was at Davy's tree, it kind of felt normal for all of us freaks to be there. I was lying next to Dawson, looking at the dusk sky through the bare branches as I heard Greg shuffle.

"I never said thank you," Greg started. I propped myself up on my elbows and looked at him curiously. "I-I was really in a bad place that one time Eden... you really have no idea. And you were just there, saying all the right things. Even though you were obviously awkward, you said exactly what I needed to hear. You helped me in ways I can't even explain. And it's not like my mom suddenly... you know. But you helped me realize I have all of these freaks, so thank you for that." I probably looked so weird lying there with my mouth open and no words coming out. I didn't really know how to react. I didn't do anything, and here Greg was saying thank you as if I saved his life.

"Yea Eden, you're awkward as hell but you do always help someway even when you don't realize it," Cara added as Jenny nodded. What the fuck was happening?

"Did everyone but me get one on one time with Eden? That's bullshit! I want to be touched by the magic of the garden of Eden!" Nicotine screamed.

I cringed as I pushed him to sit down. "Please never say that again," I laughed uncomfortably.

"It's true though," my head snapped over to Dawson's as my face cringed. "Not the garden of Eden crap, that's weird. You're just always there. You're always at the right place at the right time to say the right things."

"This sucks! Eden, we have to hang out sometime. Seriously, this is favoritism." Nicotine whined again.

"Guys, stop being so cheesy. Trust me, Davy just rubbed off on me." I quickly stated, so very uncomfortable with how this whole evening turned out.

"No," Dawson shook his head, not breaking eye contact with me, "that's just all you."

I couldn't look away from Dawson. His eyes were filled with so much emotion and I didn't know how someone can handle all of it. I finally broke eye contact and looked around at the freaks in front of me. Even though we don't know that much about each other, here we were.

Together.

Everyone still had their own shit they had to go through, but we were here smiling and laughing at how high Nicotine was.

And how Cara was having none of his crap.

And how Jenny was crying/laughing at Nicotine's hilarious remarks.
