General POV

They both ran to Alex's house, Richie still chasing Alex. "Don't do that!" Richie yells, complaining to her as she continues giggling, them barely making it to the foot of the doorstep.

"Aw Rich, you know you love it" Alex says, flashing him a proud smile, obviously satisfied with her effect on him. He just rolls his eyes and shakes his head as she opens the door to her home.

When did she start using the nickname Rich? Richie thinks, but quickly brushing it off as they both get greeted once again by Alex's little sister, Cameron.

"Heya, Ricky" she smiles, letting us in. "Richie" Alex corrects, laughing at the error.

They say hi to everyone and immediately go upstairs to Alex's room after. Alex jumps onto her bed and Richie sits in her desk chair that was right next to her bed.

Quickly, they start up a random conversation, leading to more and more things and next thing you know, they've been talking for 30 minutes.

"I feel like I don't want to say I don't believe in ghosts because I think if I say that then they'll haunt me, so... I guess technically I believe in them" Alex sighs, fidgeting with a pencil she randomly grabbed a while ago.

Richie nods, smiling, understanding what she meant. But he was actually mentally laughing at how weird their conversations would always turn out in the end. Ghosts? Last time it was different dimensions, now ghosts.

He laughs quietly, Alex looking over to him confused. "What?" she asks, biting back a smile.

"Nothing. It's just... don't you think the conversations we have are a bit odd?" he asks, lifting an eyebrow. She sits there for a while, thinking.

"Well, kinda. But... it's our type of normal" she shrugs. He nods.

"Yeah, our type of normal" Richie smiles at the words as she continues to fiddle with the pencil.

Suddenly, Jenny pops her head into the room. "Dinners almost ready, i'll tell you when it's fully ready" she looks at Alex, her eyes traveling over to Richie quickly.

"Oh, hey Richie" she smiles awkwardly, before closing the door. But then the door opens again, Jenny popping her head in again.

Alex rolls her eyes. "Do you want to stay for dinner?" Jenny asks him. He looks over to Alex, her giving him an eye signal that says no, don't do it.

Richie smirks, turning back to Jenevive. "Oh, sure" he says, beginning to act all innocent. Only Alex noticed that.

"It won't be a problem?" he asks, his act causing Alex to huff loudly. Jenny furrows her eyebrows at what's happening, but quickly shakes her head at his question.

"No it's fine" she answers, eyeing Alex suspiciously before walking out.

Once they hear her footsteps have gone, Alex stands up and walks to Richie, a smug smile on his face.

"What the hell, I told you to say no" she says, not wanting Richie and her to go through the rare yet awful dinners they used to have before.

He shrugs, "But I said yes and I can't change that anymore" he smirks, standing up too.

Because he stood up, Alex had to take a few steps back. But he didn't stop there.

He actually kept slowly walking towards her as she slowly stepped back. Eventually, her back hit a wall and Richie got really close to her.

She looked up at him and he smiled. "Yeah, the family dinners could be better, way better..." he trails off, leaning in to her face.

He was so close to her, but she couldn't really do anything, so she just watched. Also, she didn't really mind.

She closed her eyes and Richie did the same, one of his hands finding their way to the side of her face.

He slowly brushed his lips against hers, them barely touching. Alex was about to try and lean in, but Richie heard footsteps outside the door, and as Alex tried to get closer, Richie pulled away.

"Dinners ready" Jenevive pops in again, just in time for Richie not to be seen with Alex. "Okay, we're coming" he says, watching Jenny walk away.

He smirks, looking back to a shocked Alex, walking back over to her. "But I don't blame you" he whispers right in front of her.

She furrows her eyebrows and purses her lips, watching Richie wink before walking out. She huffs in frustration and runs to the door.

"Richie Tozier, you asshole!" Alex yelled to him from across the hall, him laughing uncontrollably.

Luckily nobody else heard what Alex had said, so she just ran over to Richie and shoved him onto the couch.

"Not funny" She pointed at him warningly before quickly walking down the stairs with the flip of her hair. Richie smirked at his effect on her and got up to have dinner downstairs.

Richie really did want to kiss Alex at that moment, but he felt as if he needed to get revenge out of the way first.

They were currently sitting across from each other on the dinner table, all of Alex's family eyeing them confusedly as Alex and Richie have a focused stare down.

Everyone has already eaten their food, but now that they're done, it's started to get really awkward. Alex is just spinning the remains of her spaghetti with her fork as her eyes never leave Richie.

Richie, on the other hand, tried to look anywhere but her as her stare burned into him. It was awfully silent and awkward, nothing was happening and Richie just wished he hadn't said yes to jenny's invitation.

Yes, Alex did warn him about it and yes, he does remember how bad it used to be, but he thought it was worth making Alex mad.

He sighed, letting go of his hand that he was leaning his head on.

"Well this was fun. I gotta get home now, but the food was great Mrs. Noxin" Richie said, breaking the silence and getting up.

He smiled at everyone and they smiled back before he walked to the front room to leave. But before he went out the door, he made sudden eye contact with Alex and winked with a devious smile.

Alex stuck her tongue out at him and he just smirked and shut the door. "I'm done too, see ya guys" Alex sighed and got up, racing up the stairs immediately after.

Wha- how did that even happen? she thought to herself as she plopped onto her bed, letting out an exhausted sigh. She didn't even thing Richie would talk to her after that incident, let alone almost kiss her.

Alex had no idea what she was feeling, but all she knew was that she wanted Richie to be there right next to her right then.

Hey ugh sorry it was a long wait i am sososososo sorry i didn't mean to not publish for a while i just didn't have time to write. i also have a bit of writers block but anyway sorry again and hope you enjoyed this
