Chapter 13: The Holy Temple and Secret Beast-Taming Formula

The boy advanced closer, and Ke YongAn could see they seemed to be telepathically speaking to each other, show by a staring contest.

The snake was the first to break eye contact and slithered away.

Ke YongAn breathed a sigh of relief and studied the boy who saved her. He looked quite fierce with the animal furs, but Ke YongAn could see he was very kind. She approached.

"Thank you for saving my life."

"Uhen." The boy merely nodded his head, and turned his body to leave. Ke YongAn, not knowing where she was and with countless dangers, caught up to the boy hastily.

The boy did not heed her and carried on Non-chantly. Ke YongAn, now feeling awkward from the silence, tried to establish a conversation.

"My name is Ke YongAn." Ke YongAn decided on using her real name, as using "Huang Xing" would not appeal to the situation at all.

"Qin YangTian."

Ke YongAn rejoiced at finding out his name.

"What are you doing in Beast Land?"

There was no answer.

Ke YongAn sighed and became serious.

"Would you know how I got here? Or how souls would get here?" The short talk with the snake did not escape Ke YongAn's ears, despite her fear. After all, if a Spirit awakening creature appeared right in-front, you would probably run the other direction.

The boy suddenly paused, causing Ke YongAn to walk straight through him. This could be considered an unfortunate time, for Ke YongAn had seemed to crash straight into a force-field and got repelled. Her spirit body became paler, but since she couldn't use the support of physical materials, she was blown quite far away.

At the moment Ke YongAn was blown away, she saw symbols glow a gold light in a circle around the empty space. However, these symbols were more complicated than the 49 she saw, so she did not recognize what Array this was.

"Grandpa, it's me!" The boy called toward the empty space.

As Ke YongAn recovered, she saw a wondrous sight. It seemed as though a door-way appeared to a hidden realm. Beyond the tall trees surrounding and the dimness, was a bright greenery. Ke YongAn could hear the trickling of water and see an edge of a red bridge.

Stunned, Ke YongAn couldn't help but draw near. As Qin YangTian entered, so did Ke YongAn.

However, she was not prepared to be repealed yet again before even landing half a foot into the array.

Startled, yet learning from her past mistake, Ke YongAn changed the repelling force by jumping high into the air. Although she still moved backwards, it wasn't as much.

"Who dares?" An old voice that almost sounded ancient resounded powerfully from the array, shaking Ke YongAn's heart.

"I-I'm sorry." Ke YongAn stuttered. She gathered up her strength and continued, "That was pretty bad of me to step uninvited into your home..."

"Don't give me any of your flower words. You're here for the secret formula of Beast-taming!"

H-huh?

"Um...I think you're misunderstanding..." Ke YongAn tried to explain, but it seemed to make things worse.

"Scram! You and your petty excuses. You think I don't know? Sending a soul to try and pass undetected. You're getting desperate, huh, Holy Temple?"

Ke YongAn paused, shocked by the name "Holy Temple". The Holy Temple, as explained before, was one of the powerhouses for the continent. The Holy Temple actually relied quite heavily on Magical Beasts. Thus, it was also called "The Holy Conservatory". Many who were acquainted with Light attribute beasts would come over to adopt one.
