The twelfth and final hour

"Pax, wake up!" I whisper shouted, lightly smacking his arm to wake him up.

"Hmm?" I groaned as he started to wake up.

"Is that your dad?" I asked, and pointed to the man who now had his back towards us.

"Where?" he asked, snapping awake and caught sight of the guy I was pointing at. "I can't tell... Wait you burned his arm right?"

"Yeah, I burned both of them."

"He's got a bandage on one of his arms, see? It's poking out of the coat."

"Do you want to follow him."

"Yeah do that just in case."

I started to drive after him, making sure to stay a safe distance away so he wouldn't suspect anything. Thankfully it was two in the morning so the city wasn't too crowded, which made it easier to follow Carl.

After about fifteen, he turned down this slightly noticeable path in the grass and walked down the hill into some trees. I drove for a bit, then turned around and parked the car in a gas station we saw five minutes back.

"Get Trixie," I whispered to Pax as I got out of the car. Why am I whispering?

"Okay," I whispered back and picked her up and carried her like a baby. She started to stir on our way to the path. By the time we got there, Trixie was fully awake.

"What are we doing?" Trixie asked right as we got to the path.

"Shh!" I whispered to her and motioned both of them to crouch down with me. "We are in Boston," I started explaining. "When we got here, I realized I didn't know where in Boston we were supposed to go, so I was driving around until I spotted Pax's dad. We followed him, and he turned into this path in the woods," I gestured to the path we were next to. "We are going to follow it and hope it leads to where they are keeping Cameron, so you have to be quiet in case there are more people are in the path or come down the path."

"Got it," she whispered.

"Okay, follow me," and I made my way down the path, crouching low so that the bushes and trees would hide me. I went first, then Trixie and Pax brought up the rear. The ground was a tad slippery from mud, looking like it had rained the day before, and we were going downhill, which made it worse. "Guys, be care-" Before I could finish my sentence, Pax slipped, crashing into Trixie, who then crashed into me.

We all went sliding down the hill, getting all muddy and scratched up by passing bushes in the process. Nature must hate me.

I got all the way down the hill before I stopped. I was, unfortunately, leading the group so Trixie landed on top of me, with Pax on top of her.

"Get off," Trixie and I groaned at the same time.

"Oh shoot, I'm sorry," Pax apologized while hastily getting off of us. "Didn't mean to do that." He offered a hand to Trixie, which she slapped away and got up by herself. He then offered a hand to me, which I gladly took, and pulled me up.

"You okay?" he asked.

"Why yes I am, thanks for asking," Trixie said, and we looked over and she had her hands on her hips. "Just because you-"

"Shhh!" I told her and clapped a hand over her mouth. "I think I heard something."

"I'm telling you, Henry," we heard a voice say, and it was closer than I would have liked. "I swear I heard something," and we saw the person moving outside the line of trees.
