Symphony

Nakakapanibago. Hindi ako kinulit no'ng unggoy habang pauwi kami ng Pinas. I hate the silence.

"Baboo."I mumbled and nudged his shoulder.

"Hmm."

"Talk to me please."

"I'm sleepy, kitty."

"Bahala ka sa buhay mo."naiinis na anas ko sabay talikod sa kanya.

Uminit 'yong pisngi ko ng 'di inaasahan nang yakapin niya ako't hilahin papalapit sa kanya.

"Did you miss my voice?"bulong niya habang paulit-ulit na hinahalikan ang ulo ko. "I love you, Si."

"Jax, stop saying that?"

"What? That I love you? Why don't you want to hear me say I love you? I really love you."

I looked up to him only to find him smirking. He's really good at annoying me. Sana pala hinayaan ko nalang 'tong manahimik e.

"Oo na. Titigil na. Pikon ka naman agad e."aniya't hinalikan ako ng saglit. "I love you—Oops. Sorry."

"I hate you."

"Iisipin ko nalang 'yong sabi nilang the more you hate, the more you love."

"Bahala ka. I still hate you."

"Hindi mo ba talaga ako minahal, Si?"tanong niya nang bigla siyang sumeryoso. "Kahit no'ng gabi lang na 'yon?"

"Pwede ba 'yon? Isang gabi mo lang mahal 'yong tao?"

"I don't know. But if it's possible, it'd be enough for me to know that you once loved me."

"Who's Bea?"I heard myself ask.

"Bea?"

"It's fine if you won't tell me. I'm suddenly sleepy."saad ko saka sumandal sa dibdib niya.

"Si, we're still talking."

"No. I'm sleeping."

"I'll tell you about Bea."

"I'm sleeping, Baboo. Just shut up and hug me."

Kahit ayaw kong matulog, nagpanggap akong tulog para maiwasang kausapin siya. Why am I acting paranoid? One moment, I'm uncomfortable that he's too quiet. One moment he talks, I'm annoyed.

He was back to his quiet mode when we arrived at the airport. Driving back home, he still chose to be silent and I did not bother starting a conversation.

"We're almost home, kitty."he spoke up finally when we have reached the subdivision.

"So?"

"I was hoping that you'd say something to me."nakangising tugon niya.

"Thank you. I appreciate it."sarkastikong sambit ko.

"Si..."nakabusangot na anas niya.

"What?"

"Wala. Di naman tumatalab ang pagpapa-cute ko sa kasungitan mo."

"Baliw."

He honked the car many times but nobody opened the gate. Padabog na bumaba ako ng kotse at sumunod naman kaagad siya. I looked for my keys inside my bag but I couldn't find it.

"Here." he offered his keys.

Matapos kuhanin 'yon mula sa kanya, hindi ko magawang buksan 'yong gate. Humarap ako kay Jax na nakatitig lang sa'kin.
