CHAPTER ONE

"Xiao Yi, wake up!"

QTs voice, high pitched as it was annoying, blended further and further into the background, as the ringing of an alarm clock disturbed Xiao Yi's slumber. He woke, groggy, to silk sheets and sunlight pouring in from a large window by his bedside.

"Xiao Yi!"

"I'm up..."

"Ahh, good. It seems like everything is in order... Um, unfortunately due to the current system restrictions, I won't be able to speak with you in the outside world after the transference of the worlds plot, so did you have any questions before we begin?"

Xiao Yi shook his head. "No, we may as well start now."

"Alright then!" 

And suddenly, a burst of information entered his mind.

The MC of this world is Song Mei, now Feng Mei, who was raised as the adoptive sister of Feng Yi. She was of low birth, but because her mother saved the life of Feng Yi's parents at the cost of her own life when Song Mei was just a child, she was adopted into their house as repayment.

The original story had her meet Gao Xi (the ML) when he was undercover at a party her scum friends had invited her to. Captivated by her innocence, he took an interest to her and began to pursue her, and after many twists and turns, they ended up in a relationship.

This was how it was supposed to happen, however the story's main antagonist – Li Shu – due to a fluke, was reincarnated into the past, and was now seeking revenge. She aimed to break up the main couple, and take Gao Xi for herself, along with his company and assets.

Xiao Yi's mission this time is to prevent that from happening, and by doing so restore the plotline. There were two major plot points he had ensure:

1. Their protagonists relationship had to survive whatever hurdles given by an antagonist

2. The ML Gao Xi had to inherit his family's company

3. The MC Feng Mei had to inherit her family's company

...

Hang on wait, it turns out that the current body he was occupying was Feng Yi, the heir?!

Rereading the plot again, Xiao Yi groaned in defeat as he realized his fate was that of a canon fodder. Despite being born to a powerful family, Xiao Yi developed a genetic disorder during his stay overseas, and was not destined to live long. He had managed to hide that fact from his family, hoping to find a cure and to not worry them, but unfortunately he was destined to die by the hands of that girl Li Shu.

It was a situation where Feng Yi, knowing he had not long to live and that his sister had fallen in love with that man, had sacrificed himself and got hit by a car instead of Gao Xi... That further cemented Gao Xi and Feng Mei as a relationship and their position in each other's hearts, as he felt guilt over the situation, and also comforted Feng Mei over her brother's death.

Ah... even if that was a major turning point, if possible he'd like to prevent dying in such a painful manner from happening...

Seeing the timeline now, it seemed like he had arrived two days prior to Feng Mei and Gao Xi's first meeting... So at least he will have time to adjust to the situation.

"Young Master, your mother would like you down for breakfast." A knock on the door and the voice of an old man disturbed his thoughts. Xiao Yi propped himself up on the bed and steadied himself.

"Yes, thank you." He replied, and then got ready. Xiao Yi was a university student, and his clothes were basic but fashionable, and of high quality. He wore a plain button up and black pants, and headed downstairs.

"Xiao Yi!" He was immediately greeted by his mother. "Come, sit next to me and Mei Mei."

Xiao Yi nodded and obediently went to sit where she had gestured. Her sister smiled and greeted him.

"Brother Yi, good morning!" She said. Her voice was soft and pleasant to the ears, and matched with her angelic looks, she looked and acted the part of the perfect rich girl daughter. Anyone looking would never have known she was actually adopted.

"Good morning," he replied, surveying the food before him. As expected of a rich family, the table was full of nicely decorated foods – a full spread.

"Eat, eat," his mother insisted, piling up a variety of foods onto his plate.

Xiao Yi just nodded politely and ate what he saw. He took a particular liking for the sweets - especially the egg tart, and tang yuan, and the red bean, and deep fried sesame balls. Huh, turned out he had a bit of a sweet tooth?

As he ate, he silently listened in on the conversation at the table, which was mostly between his mother and sister. He wondered where his father was, and looking through the previous memories held by his body, it seems as if he was a busy man, who often went overseas for work and was rarely home. It didn't seem like the father played a large part in the plot, so he ignored him for now.

"Oh – my friend invited me out to play tonight." Feng Mei said.

Xiao Yi's ears perked up.

"Ah? Werent you going to spend the day with your brother?"

"Well..."

"I could come along?" Xiao Yi suggested. "It's been awhile since I've gone out in A City, I want to see how it's changed. If Mei Mei doesn't mind?"

"Of course not!" His 'sister' replied happily. "Then in about two hours we'll leave, okay?"

Xiao Yi nodded. They all finished their breakfasts after, and parted ways to get ready before meeting up again with their driver to leave.

a.n. i thought i should probably just upload the first chapter! let me know what you guys think of it. i'm still deciding on the length of the chapters, but the next ones will hopefully be at least this long (or longer!)

the next update will be about next week (or sooner) depending on how fast i write!
