You taught me love
in a world that taught me hate
at a young age
Grandpa, I didn't look at your body
because I wanted to remember you
as the man, I wanted to become
Grandma, I didn't want to see your body
I slept during the viewing
hoping to forget that you would no longer be there
but when I did see you in your beautiful coffin
I cried my heart out
You both treated me like the son you never had
You showed me that even the most imperfect person
like myself
can be respectable
You showed me even the most hateful person
like myself
can be loveable
I loved you both like my second parents
I was blessed with your looks
I learned some of your habits
I hope I can keep the promise I wasn't able to give before you left
