Chapt. Twenty-Seven

Genesis

I woke up out the hospital bed looking around at the nurses who was all in my room. Doctor talking to the police. Shit I have remain sleep. I don't want them mother fuckers putting me in jail. They might want me to tell who sold me the drugs. What I was doing in a motel. Shit to get me in trouble and stay in jail.

"Officer, there is also one more thing about her"

"What is it doc?"

"She's pregnant"

I raise up so fast like a dead person bout to jump out his or her casket. The nurses was really scared of me. I look at the doctor and then at the nurses. "Ma'am do you know where you are right now?"

"H-Hospital"I said.

"That's right. And did you know what you took to put yourself in this hospital?"the doctor ask.

"What I took?"I ask. "I don't know"

"I need everyone out please"the officer said. The doctor and the nurses walked out the room and the officer sat his chair next to me.

"Who are you?"I ask.

"Hello Genesis. I'm detective Carter"he held his hand out.

"I don't shake strangers hand"I said.

"Look, I know what you do. You sell your body to men for drugs huh"he said. "Genesis, you can go to jail for that. But I want to help you"

"How?"

"All you have to say or tell me that the man and woman who was with you force you to have sex with the men"detective Carter said.

I sat still for a minute and rubbed my stomach. I can't have a baby in jail. I ain't going. I'm defending for myself.

"Yes"I sniffle. "They force me to spread my legs wide and have sex with nasty men for drugs. One time I couldn't do it so the man, I don't know his name, force himself into me and he release his cum into me"I cried.

"It's okay Genesis"thank God he's buying it.

"And then the female. She called the men over and she knew that I didn't want to have sex with them so she told them to rape me and beat me if I don't listen"now I'm doing to much. But I don't care. I don't want to go to jail.

"Okay, do you know what they look like?" Detective Carter ask.

"Old and drug out"I said. "Look in the crack houses or another motel"

"Got it. You rest for now and take care that baby. Might want to talk to your boyfriend about it"what boyfriend?

King walked in the room smiling at me. "gracias a Dios estás bien ( thank God you're okay)" he came to my bed side and kiss my lips.

"Hi king"I said.

"I'll let you two talk"detective Carter said. I waved goodbye and then turn my attention to King.

"Why the fuck you here?!"I semi yelled.

"Can't see my girl"he said.

"After all the bull shit I been through with you. I don't want to see you"I said.

"You just went through bull shit without me. Your life will be nothing but bull shit"he said. "You see, I'm trying to help you and you pushing me away"

"I'm sorry king that I'm pushing you away. But I don't want to be a prostitute anymore"I sniffle. "I'm pregnant"

"For the crack head right"he said then shook his head. "Wow. Don't want to be a prostitute but gave your body away for drugs"

"I made a huge mistake"I cried.

"Calm down. Now do you want to stay in Cali or come back to Mexico with me"he said.

"I'm staying in California"

"If you stay, do you know what's gone happen to you. Crack head Bobby will come back for you for lying and kill you. The female probably gone find you already and try to kill the baby or take it"

He was right about that. What if they come back for me and kill me? I have to leave California but then no cause my mom won't know where the hell I'ma be at. I can't leave with king. Or should I?

"Why are looking out for me?"I ask.

"Cause I'm still your pimp....."

"I told you I'm not a prostitute anymore"I said.

"To me, I think you still have in you"he said. "I want to protect you and that baby. We can move to Beverly hills and start a new life"

I like the sound of that. Be in the big mansion and look out at the Hollywood sign.

"Okay. Let's go"
