Chapt. Thirty-Seven

Genesis
One month later

Another month went by. But ain't nothing change. It seems like I can't get away from my demons. King found out where I was. The girl Ashley who I saved from king, passed away last week. Police say she died from suicide. But her mother believed that king killed her. I just don't understand why go back to your house. He knew where she stayed. How the hell he knew where I was?

He saw how many girls Jerome and his mom have save. He thought it would of been a good idea to speak to Jerome about taking some girls off his hands. He lied and said that he was also a helper for the community but Jerome knew who he was. His mom called the police, they came and arrested King. Took him away.

Ashley mom wanted justice for her daughter and got it. King is in prison for life. I'm so happy. Cause now I can live my life in peace without running from him. I'm in heaven pregnant with a baby boy. Jerome never been any happier.

We decided to open our own rehab and help out drug addicts, prostitutes, or even the homeless who don't have a home. Our shelter is number 1 in California. Can't thank god enough.

"And that's my story. You see, the world throws so many obstacles at you. All those obstacles that was thrown at me, I hop over it and learned from my mistakes and you can too"I smiled at the students who all clap their hands and stood up. I wanted to cry but I kept my head held high and waved at them.

After the school visit in San Diego, me and Jerome left back to San Jose. We decided to move somewhere quiet once the baby is born. But I don't think San Jose is very quiet to me.

"Happy that it's over?"Jerome ask.

"Yeah. A lot of students who are going down the wrong path"I said. "I just wanted to help them"

"And you did. Reading your book, they will learn not to do drugs"Jerome said.

"Hopefully"I mumble. "I just can't wait for little Jeffery to come"I smiled.

"Same. He will come out handsome like his daddy and strong just like his momma"Jerome rubbed my stomach. I laid on Jerome shoulders preparing for a long ass drive back home.
