Chapter 7: Family is Love

as soon as I stepped through the door Jasper was glaring at me, because i'm annoying i smiled warmly at him and walked to the living room, but he wasn't letting me off that easy.

"you know for centuries old immortal creature with a perfect brain that's supposed to be smart, that was a really dumb move" i whirled around to face him

"dumb? how was it dumb? i went to discuss peaceful terms for how our families should coexist, i am the leader of this Coven as we have all decided and i do not take the job lightly, so would you like to explain to me how putting soley myself in danger to protect my loved ones is dumb?" I retorted

"because going in alone only made it more dangerous!?" he shot back

"well what did you want me to do, take Alice?" i said, immediatley i regretted it, Jasper's love for his mate was something that i should not toy with

"you should have taken me" he said quietly

"you know she wouldn't have stayed behind if both of us went, it was the smartest decision" 

"doesn't make it the right one, Bella, you know my history, you know i could have protected you, and yet you still left me behind, i don't know what i would do if you were hurt because i wasn't there" the pain in his voice twisted my stomach into knots, i put my hand on his shoulder

"look at me" his gaze stayed fixed on the floor "Jazz, look at me" his eyes slowly raised up to meet mine "i know you worry about me, but you know if they tried anything i would just put up my shield or run straight here, and if i were hurt or worse, you don't get to blame yourself for that, because it would be my fault, i made the call, i pay the price, ok" he nodded but his eyes still held the pain and fear "Jazz, your the best brother i could ask for, and your so protective of me, and i love that about you, but sometimes, i have to take care of things on my own" he smiled this time but it didn't reach his eyes, i sighed, knowing that was the best i would get and pulled him into a hug.

"I love you Bella" I smiled

"love you too" i said, Alice came bounding down the stairs and almost knocked us both over with a hug of her own.

"and I love you both!" she squealed, we all pulled away from eachother and erupted into a fit of laughter.

"oh, Alice" i said turnign to her remebering i needed her to check the weather "can you check for thunderstorms this weekend" i said, they both looked at me curiously, then Alice's face lit up

"are we gonna play baseball?" she asked

"depends" i said smiling "will there be thunder?" her eyes glazed over for a moment before she came back to reality smiling

"yes!" she squealed in excitement

"alright, oh, and a slight twist, the Cullen's will be joining us" i said, both of them looked shocked

"what!? how did i not see that?" Alice said

"maybe because they don't know they're coming yet" i said, "i'll text them" and i did, Emmet sent back a 'yay' with a smiley face emoji, I smiled, "they're in" I said

Alice and Jasper went upstairs after that, Alice to pick out her outfit, Jasper to be tortured by her picking out his. i went to my room and lay down on the bed thinking through this weekend, planning through it, the Cullen's did not appear to be a threat, yet, however until they undoubtley proved it i would warn Ali and Jazz to be on guard. 

suddenly i was snapped from my thoughts as the giggles from Alice and Jasper's room changed into different noises that made me a little queazy, i groaned, and got out of bed, i shouted at them that i was heading out to hunt but didn't invite them, i didn't want to interupt, i loved that they were happy, i just didn't want to listen to it. i ran into the woods behind our house.
