||CHAPTER 9: Stay or Leave||

Tia

It is the 1st of April 2015.

9:30 AM

A beautiful Wednesday morning. The sky was blue, the sun bright but it was cold. Nevertheless, it felt great on my skin. I was in our backyard, sitting on our black garden lounge, with my favorite book in my hand. After I close the book, I place it on the glass table in front of me, before placing my right-hand on my stomach.

I smile, "Hi, my love." I said, "Are you liking the book?" I ask, "I hope you are, it's a really good book, and the main male character makes me think of...."

It's been about four months since I've left Australia.

Four months, since I've seen or spoken to Logan.

"Your father," I said, sadly. "I haven't spoken about him to you now, have I."

Since I was Tia Frederick, I wasn't living in the city because Uncle Tarun, Aunt Leanne, and Alex thought it would be safer if we kept the pregnancy a secret from the world.

As for me, I didn't want Logan to know.

'It is for the best.' I thought.

As I stand straight, I walk towards the rose bush, "When your father and I first met, we didn't like each other." I said, "Honestly, in the beginning, I didn't like him because he made me feel an emotion I didn't feel for three years. Your mother was really, really afraid because that emotion hurt her in the past." I brush my fingers against the rose petals, "But slowly, the more time your father I spent together, the closer we became."

"I know you're thinking, did daddy and mummy get together straight away." I smile, "Well, we didn't because we made a foolish bet. A bet, which kept us apart. We could've broken the bet, but our pride wouldn't let us but when we finally did, it was too late."

I sigh, sadly. "Darling, there was a problem and your mother ran from him." Turning around, I walk towards the back door, "That night, when he ran after me, I was really close to running back into his arms, the one place where I truly felt safe. But I didn't because he had two people waiting for him."

I walk inside the house, "At first, I was frightened because I was going to start a new chapter and I was going to experience it alone." I said, "Suddenly, I thought of your grandmother, and it made me realize, I'm not alone because I have you with me."

"When I first saw your heartbeat, I fell in love."

"I really can't wait to meet you."

I look at the front door, "Uncle Tarun," I said, smiling, "I thought you were going to be here on Friday!"

"Good morning, Floss. Taj, Varun will be going to the meetings in my place." Uncle Tarun said, placing a kiss on my forehead. With a brighter smile on his face, he looks at my stomach, "Good morning, my darling." Then he looks at me, "How are you feeling?"

"At around 5 o'clock in the morning, I started vomiting," I said, with a pout. "Then, for some reason, I started crying while I was making myself ginger tea."

There's a soft chuckle from Uncle Tarun, "Once over the phone, your father said that your mother cried while making herself ginger tea too." He said, before sitting on the black couch, "Oh, I tried calling my beautiful wife but, she wasn't answering the phone."

"Aunt Leanne had to drive to the grocery store because we don't have milk, and I am really craving pickles." I said, "But, she'll be back shortly."
