I stood in Shuri's lab with Alana, Alana was a refugee in Wakanda. Super badass and also super pregnant. She was amazingly funny but seemed almost depressed. We were mid-conversation when T'Challa came into the lab. Shuri looked at us excitedly before turning to her brother. "My king," she teased
"Stop it, stop it," he said they greeted one another as she giggled.
"I've already sent a car ahead to Busan for you," She told him
"Busan? Korea?" I asked looking at my boyfriend Shuri whistled under her breath as she chuckled
"Yes, there is a mission," I narrowed my eyes at him
"Who are you taking to Korea?" Shuri asked
"Okoye, Nakia, and Ayana" I nodded and they continued walking Alana following closely next to me. "You'll be on call should we need backup," T'Challa tells Shuri who lifts her fist and mumbles a yes.
"I have great things to show you, brother," Shuri says walking ahead of us "Here are your communication devices for Korea," I looked at the clear earbuds that had a black line design on them. "Unlimited range, also equipped with audio surveillance system," T'Challa picks up the case Shuri continues walking "Check these out," She picks up a black object. "Remote access Kimoyo beads. Updated to interface directly with my sand table," She explains I lean down closer nodding at the object in slight awe.
"And what are these?" T'Challa asks walking toward a table Shuri looks up smirking
"The real question is, What are those," She yells dragging out those as she teased T'Challa I laughed out as did Alana. "Why do you have your toes out in my lab?" Shuri continues looking up at her brother
"What you don't like my royal sandals?" T'Challa asks putting his foot on the bench
"He wanted to go traditional for his first day," I told her
"I'm sure the elders loved that," she teases T'Challa chuckles she picks up the foot-shaped objects "Try them on," She places them on the floor. T'Challa steps onto them and they cover his feet with nano like objects. "Fully automated. Like the old American movie Baba used to watch," T'Challa hums "And I made them completely sound absorbent," T'Challa tries to make noise stepping his foot down but it makes no noise
"Interesting,"
"Guess what I call them," We both look up to her "Sneakers," I snorted laughing slightly under my breath "Because you..." She stops short "never mind," she whispers patting T'Challa slightly "If you are going to take on Klaue you'll need the best design group has to offer," Shuri says walking over to the mannequins. They all wore a tooth necklace. "Exhibit A, old tech,"
"My design, Old?" he looks to his sister
"Functional but old," Shuri said "Hey people are shooting at me. Wait, let me put on my helmet," I laughed as she mimed the actions out over his face
"Enough," he said causing her to laugh
"Now look at these," she motions at the other mannequins "Do you like that one?" she asks
"Tempting," he says "but the idea is to not be noticed, this one,"
Shuri puts her Kimoyo beads behind his head they light up "Now tell it to go on," She tells him he stares at the mannequin soon a black suit covers it. I whistle looking at Alana who wore the same impressed look. "The entire suit sits within the teeth of the necklace," She tells him as he smirks at the suit "Strike it," she says he looks at her
"Anywhere," he asks she hums out. He kicks it around the midsection. The mannequin goes flying across the room.
"Not that hard genius," She scolds running to pick it up and place it back
"You told me to strike it, you did say how hard,"
"I invite you to my lab and you just kick things around?" I snorted as she continues to scold her brother.
"Well, maybe you should make it a little stronger," he paused a little "Hey, wait a minute," I leaned in closer to the suit to see the purple lining that T'Challa was looking at.
"The nanites absorb the kinetic energy and hold it in place for redistribution," Shuri explains a wide smirk on her lips. I smiled at her excitement
"Very nice," T'Challa compliments.
"Strike it again in the same spot," her Kimoyo beads buzz as she opens the camera.
"You're recording," T'Challa points out the obvious
"For research purposes," T'Challa looks at me before kicking the mannequin though this time a purple shield surrounds it and he goes flying, I burst out laughing as Shuri laughs mockingly at her brother.
"Delete that footage!" T'Challa yells causing me to laugh harder at him. I grabbed Alana's arm as we giggled. When the laughter calmed down I held my sides as they sat in stitches.
"I have one more thing for Ayana," I looked up at the teenager who smiled at me as she basically jumped in excitement. She motioned us to follow once more. We stopped in front of two mannequins. Both had a suit on it but one was my original suit. "I already gave new versions of your sibling's suits to them. But yours, yours was my favorite to make," she said I looked at the suit, it was almost the exact same as my original one. The yellow was slightly brighter. Around the thigh of the left leg was a holster. "It is completely lined with vibranuim," She said I smiled hugging the teen
"Thank you Shuri," I said and she nodded into my shoulder.
