ZWCS#9: Playing with Fire

Pagpatak ng alas tres ay tumayo na si Trinity mula sakanyang swivel chair tapos ay sinuot ang coat niya na nakasabit sa kanyang upuan.

"You're leaving already?" sabi ng kanyang ka-opisinang si Eleanor. Tinignan nito ang wall clock at nang makita ang oras ay napailing ito. "No wonder you're in a hurry, I lost track of time."

She smiled at Eleanor. Kinuha niya ang hand bag niya at nagpaalam na sa ka-opisina. "I have to go. See you on Monday."

Sumakay siya ng elevator pababa ng lobby. Her phone beeped and she smiled as read the message she received.

The dinosaur's grumpy.

She was texting back when the elevator dinged. She walked straight to the reception to picked up the cake she ordered. Pinaiwan niya kasi iyon doon nang tumawag sakanya ang nagdeliver.

"It's freezing outside, Trin. You better bundle up more." sabi sakanya ni Bobbie na nasa reception area nang iabot nito sakanya ang box ng cake.

"I'm used to the cold. Have a great weekend!" bati niya tapos ay lumabas na ng building.

"Taxi!" she shouted as she ran to get to the cab she hailed. It's already winter season here in New York and the cold is getting hard to bear.

Nagpahatid siya sa isang bahay sa may Bay Ridge. She paid the cab driver and ran as fast as she could to get inside the house.

"Rawr!!!"

She playfully screamed as a little dinosaur ran towards her.

"Oh no! The little dino is really grumpy!"

"Where's my cake?" the little dino asked with his "dinosaur" voice.

"Here na po." sabi niya at ipinakita ang cake.

"Gimme! Gimme!" The little dinosaur jumped as he tried to reach the cake.

"Dino, let Mimi change her clothes first."

"But Daddy! I want my cake!"

"You will, but let Mimi change first."

"Sige na, Philip. Dalin mo na 'to sa kusina." sabi niya at inabot ang cake dito.

Napailing lang ito at kay Dino na nakasuot ng dinosaur onesie. Binuhat niya ito at sabay silang tatlo pumunta sa kusina.

"Mimi, for my birthday I want a big dinosaur cake!" sabi ni Dino nang inupo niya ito sa kitchen counter. He is so cute especially when he gestures what he's saying.

Natawa naman si Philip sa anak. "But your birthday is still next year. At akala ko ba gusto mo ng Cars theme?"

"I changed my mind. I want dinosaurs!" sabi ni Dino sa Daddy nito.

She combed Dino's hair with her fingers. "Sure, we'll get you a dinosaur cake. But first, we'll eat the cake I bought for Daddy's birthday."

She smiled at Dino then looked at Philip who's holding the cake with a lit candle already.

Dino sang a birthday song to his Dad at gusto nilang matawa ng malakas dahil ang bilis nitong kumanta na halatang sinasadya para lang makakain na ng cake.

Philip gave him a slice of cake and the little dinosaur ate silently.

"He is such a cutie." sabi niya habang pinagmamasdan nilang dalawa si Dino na masiglang kumakain.

"He's my son, that's why."

She chuckled and slapped his stomach. "Mayabang."

Philip smirked at her.
