"Max!" Mike dropped his bag and ran over to her, she was on the floor holding her head,
"Are you okay?!" He quickly moved the long hair from her face, she groaned quietly,
"How many fingers am I holding up?" Mike held up two fingers in front of her face, "Three?"
She tried to focus, but his fingers looked like they were moving from side to side, "Oh god,"

Mike took Max's arms as she laid on the floor, helping her wrap them around his neck. He placed his hands on her waist to pull her up, she groaned once more and rested her head on his shoulder. The gym door clicked to an open
"Holy shit! What happened?"
Will, Lucas, and Dustin stood in the doorway, they quickly walked over, Mike backed up, Max still holding onto him "She fell and hit her head, but I got her." He narrowed his eyes, "Really?"
Lucas walked closer, "Here let me-"
"I said I got her!" He picked Max up from under her knees, carrying her out of the gym.

"Max? You need to stay awake," the older boy spoke in a soft tone, not wanting to scare her.
He had carried Max to the office where he was planning to call her mom or dad,
"So what are your parents names?"
"No..No! Don't," Max began to try and stand up, Mike quickly laid her back down on the bench
"Why not? You could have a serious concussion." He picked up the phone book with a sigh
"Just call your parents, I'll.." She began to start snoozing off "I'll explain later.." Max shut her eyes as Mike quickly dialled his sisters number.

"You did the right thing Mike," Nancy wheeler smiled at her younger brother "She'll be okay."
"You don't know that." Mike crossed his arms, he had called Nancy because he didn't want to get his parents involved, and Nancy had been taking nursing classes, "Bring her inside."
Mike looked up, they had arrived home. He quickly got out and opened the back car door, Max's eyes fluttered open. Mike grinned in relief
"Oh thank god! How are you feeling?"
"Mike?" She looked confused, Mike's grin quickly faded away. He reached over, picking Max up the same way he had before.

"Hi, I'm Nancy, Mike's older sister. I'm just gonna carefully place this ice pack behind your head so it can hopefully bring some relief." Nancy smiled, Mike was impressed, she spoke like a real nurse.
Max lifted her head slightly as Nancy placed the ice pack behind her, "I'm gonna ask you a couple questions Max, just to check for injury,"
Max nodded, but immediately regretted it, It hurt to move her head even slightly,

"Do you remember what happened?"
"Yeah, I was skating, then I fell.." She was  extremely embarrassed about what happened
"Okay, where does your head hurt?"
"Just above the back of my neck, feels like I got hit with a bowling ball." Max groaned, Mike looked down at her, even in pain she was still just as gorgeous as a model. "Do you feel sick?"
"No, just a harsh headache." Max closed her eyes, she was trying to act like she wasn't getting a check up in a cute strangers house,
"No concussion, the only worrisome thing is your slight loss of consciousness, but that's quite common in head injuries." Nancy stood up from her chair, grabbing a cold cloth

"But you really should rest, If you don't it could make the injury much worse."
"I can't go home early, I'll get into huge trouble."
"No problem, just stay here." Mike stood up as well. He wanted a good excuse for not calling Elle, but he also wanted to make sure Max was okay. Even though he barely knew her he cared,
"Are you sure? I think I'll be fine,"
"No, stay," Mike smiled, he was putting his persona to the side. He carefully took Max's arms, pulling her up from the futon Nancy had laid out. She wrapped her arms around his neck the way she had before, her face a slight pink.

Mike laid Max down on the big grey couch, placing a pillow under her head. He grabbed a soft blanket from the other room and placed it over top of her. "Get some sleep," he smiled 'walking away' Mike had really just stood in the kitchen watching her fall asleep. And when she did, he walked over placing a cold cloth over her forehead, he felt an odd feeling in his chest, something he had never felt before.
