Yugi Vs. Marik Part One

~Sera~
We were all at the top of the tower where we saw Yami Marik. We then glared at Yami Marik.
"Marik, you have no idea who you're messing with! Just be careful out there, Yug and remember, this nutcase plays by his own rules," Joey said remembering mine and Mai's duels. "Yeah, just think of Mai. Having her in the Shadow Realm's bad enough. And the way he dueled Sera...it was even more brutal, but if you beat this freak, Yugi, you'll save Mai. Not to mention the entire world!" Joey finished.
"I'll do my best," Yami promised. I looked at Yami as I grabbed his hand.
"Good luck, my Pharaoh. I know you'll win," I told him. He smiled a little and kissed my forehead.
"Because you're here, I will win, my Queen," he said making me blush a little. He then walked to the platform.
"Raise the platform!" Roland ordered. The platform began to rise. "The final duel of the Battle City Tournament is about to begin."
"Hold on, Yugi," we heard. We turned and saw my twin brother with Mokuba and Ishizu. "I've got something you need," Seto told him.
"Really? And what's that, Kaiba?" Yami asked. Seto threw a card over to him.
"Take this," Seto told him as Yami caught the card. I looked at Seto and raised an eyebrow. He smirked at me.
'What card did you give him?' I asked.
'My Fiend Sanctuary magic card,' Seto answered. I blinked.
'Who are you and what have you done with my brother? I swore you were a cold hearted jerk a minute ago,' I thought to him. He frowned looking somewhat ashamed.
'I'm really sorry about that, Sera. I do need you. After all, you are my twin, my other half. You've helped me rebuild Kaiba Corp., even when you were in Egypt you helped me,' he told me. I smiled a little at him.
'Of course I did, I'll always be there to help you and Mokuba. Thank you for helping, Yugi,' I said.
'Don't get used to it, little sister,' he said to me. He looked at Yami. "Use it wisely."
"What is the meaning of this, Kaiba?" Yami asked him.
"That's for you to figure out. Yugi, if you want to win this duel, you'll use that card, instead of counting on the support of your little fan club," Seto replied.
"What does that mean?" Tristen glared.
"Doesn't he get that we're all fighting the same enemy?" Tea asked.
"He did give Yugi that card," Duke pointed out.
"Yeah, well, I don't trust him. If I were you I would toss that card right off the tower, Yug!" Joey called.
"Joey, what my brother gave him will help against Marik's Winged Dragon of Ra," I saw quietly so Marik wouldn't hear me.
"What card?" Kendra asked.
"Fiend Sanctuary," I replied in whisper. She blinked.
"Wow...that's surprising," she mumbled. I nodded.
"Look Yugi, no said you had to use the card, so feel free to give it back," Seto said to him. Yami looked at the card for a moment before putting it in his deck and shuffling it.
"No! What are you doing, Yug?!" Joey asked.
"Kaiba, we may not always agree, but I still trust you," Yami told my brother.
"Don't get used to it, I'm only helping because of Sera," Seto shrugged off. I looked at Seto.
"Oh and we're not a fan club! Do you see me bowing at his feet and kissing his shoes?!" I growled. Seto smirked.
"Not yet," he said to me. I glared playfully.
"I'll hurt you when we get home, big brother," I playfully threatened. Seto shrugged keeping his smirk.
"Attention! The last duel's about to begin! Duelists, prepare your cards! Marik Ishtar will face Yugi Moto and the winner will receive the Battle City Crown!" Roland announced.
"Pharaoh, I've been waiting for this moment for my entire life. Soon your's and your Queen's infinite powers will be mine!" Yami Marik told him.
"Marik, not only will I defeat you, I'll free you from the darkness that controls you," Yami said.
"Now that I'd like to see, so come and get me!" Yami Marik laughed.
"He's gross," Tea stated.
"Take him down, Yugi!" Kendra and Duke said.
"Yeah, it's all you, man!" Tristen agreed.
"I know Yugi has two Egyptian God Cards and Marik's only got one, but Yugi's are gonna be harder to summon to the field," Joey stated.
"And why's that?" Tea asked.
"Because in order to summon Obelisk and Slifer, Yugi's gotta sacrifice a total of six monsters, but Marik's got a way of summoning the Winged Dragon of Ra with just one card, remember?" I asked. I remembered my duel. "Marik's Egyptian God Card has so many special abilities, it's almost impossible to beat," I told her.
"That's not good," Tea agreed. I smirked.
"We don't have to worry...the card my brother gave Yugi will help," I assured.
"Duelists, please cut and shuffle your opponent's deck," Roland ordered. Yami Marik laughed.
"Yes, shuffle well, Pharaoh and hope with all of your soul that that Ra ends up on the bottom," Yami Marik told him.
"Thank you," I heard Ishizu say.
"For what? Just because I gave Yugi a good card doesn't mean he'll win. He'll have to figure out how to use it and even if he does, he'll probably lose anyway. Maybe then you'll stop believe that fairy tales come true. Yugi's no Pharaoh, Ishizu, just as my sister isn't a Queen and their not destined to save the world, so wake up and stop living in the past. I realized a long time ago that the only way to succeed is to look ahead," Seto told her.
"That is not true. Just watch. I assure you that before this duel is over you will believe me, Kaiba. Marik my words," Ishizu replied. I sent her a small smile which she returned.
"Here's your deck, Pharaoh. Now it's time, time for the Shadow's to consume your soul," Yami Marik laughed.
"Marik, destiny's on my side today. The whole world is counting on me," Yami replied. I held my Crystal. Please Seraphina, help Yami and Yugi win this. Yami Marik laughed.
"You foolish confidence shows me you have no comprehension of the true horror that awaits you in this duel," Yami Marik said before laughing again.
"Yugi, don't listen to him!" Tea called.
"Yeah, he's just trying to psych you out, Yugi!" Tristen agreed.
"Wipe the floor with him!" Joey told him.
"You can do this, Yugi!" I added.
"Duelists, take your places," Roland told them.
"I will defeat you, Marik," Yami promised.
"I'd like to see you try," Yami Marik retorted.
"Commence dueling!" Roland ordered.
(Marik-4000, Yugi-4000)
"Let the fun begin now!" Yami Marik said as he opened a Shadow Game.
"I shoulda seen this coming!" Tristen said.
"Oh no, it's another Shadow Game," Kendra said.
"Hang in there, Yugi," I added.
"Now then, you've witnessed several of my Shadow Games before, but this one will be different. I've thrown in a few twists, especially for you!" Yami Marik laughed. "Now Pharaoh, it's time to reveal the first of my surprises for you." Yami Marik lifted the Millennium Rod up and it glowed.
"What's going on?" Yami asked.
"Please help!" We all heard. Mai!
"See someone familiar, do we? It's your dear friend Mai, slowly slipping into the Shadows. Once our duel ends, she'll be gone!" Yami Marik said.
"No! I won't let this madness continue, Marik!" Yami glared. Yami Marik chuckled.
"I'm afraid it gets worse. She's not the only one who's in danger here," Yami Marik smirked.
"What is that?" Yami asked.
"Just as I said, I have several surprises in store for you today. Are you ready? Meet my next victim!" Yami Marik told him. It's then we saw Yugi beside Yami. He was being restrained.
"Oh no!" Yami gasped.
"Huh? What?" Yugi asked.
"Yugi!" Yami and I shouted.
"Do you understand what's at stake now? Lose the duel and Yugi goes to the Shadow Realm," Yami Marik smirked.
"Marik, this is about you and me so leave him alone!" Yami growled.
"He's not alone either, Pharaoh. Look at your precious Queen," Yami Marik told him. Suddenly a pink line like before was attached to my chest and to Yami's. "Now, whenever you lose a monster she'll feel the attack!" Yami Marik laughed.
"Sera! Leave her out of this! I already said this is just between you and me!" Yami growled again. I glared at Yami Marik.
"That's not true, you're forgetting my weaker half. He's involved in this conflict as well. So if I lose, the Shadows will take him!" Yami Marik said pointing to my step-brother behind him.
"No! Marik!" I shouted worried. Not my little brother.
"No, you can't!" Yami glared.
"I just did! The Shadow Realm will claim an innocent soul no matter who wins. Now, let's duel! I summon Vampiric Leech (500 ATK, 1200 DEF)! Attack him directly!" Yami Marik ordered.
"No!" Yami shouted. He was then attacked and I felt it. I let out a small scream.
"Sera!" The others gasped as I held my chest.
(Marik-4000, Yugi-3500)
"You probably figured this out, but my Leech can attack instantly. Poor Sera's feeling all your pain!" Yami Marik laughed.
"Sera..." Yami looked at me worried. I looked at him as the pain started to subside.
"I'm okay...kick his ass, Yami," I told him. He nodded to me.
"You just lost 500 of your life points, Pharaoh, but that's not all," Yami Marik pointed. We heard Yugi scream.
"Yugi!" Yami and I shouted. A part of Yugi's right leg started disappearing.
"What have you done, Marik?!" Yami asked.
"When you lose life points, your friend will lose a piece of himself to the darkness while your Queen will slowly fall into a permanent coma!" Yami Marik laughed.
"You sick bastard!" Kendra growled.
"That's madness," Yami lowly growled.
"That's ingenious. Now when your life points reach zero, not only will I win the duel, but Yugi and your Queen will be gone forever and the same rule applies to my former self!" Yami Marik told him.
"I won't duel!" Yami glared.
"You have to," Yugi told him.
"He's right, Pharaoh. You must duel. I'm in control of this Shadow Game. We're in my world, remember, I can banish Yugi to the Shadow Realm anytime I wish, same applies for Sera," Yami Marik said.
"You'll pay for what you've done!" Yami told him.
"I disagree, it is you who shall pay!" Yami Marik smirked. I looked at my step-brother.
'Marik, can you hear me, brother?' I asked.
'Sister...what is...happening?' Marik asked me.
'Nothing good I'm afraid. The Pharaoh and your Yami are dueling...and you, I, and Yugi are a part of it. If your Yami loses, you'll be sent to the Shadow Realm. If the Pharaoh loses, then it's Yugi who will be sent to the Shadow Realm,' I informed.
'There's more to it, isn't there...don't lie to me,' Marik said.
'...If the Pharaoh loses...I'll be placed in a permanent coma,' I said sadly. I felt his panic then. 'The Pharaoh will win, just have faith, little brother,' I told him.
'For you, I will, big sister,' he replied.
"We can do this! Ever since you and I first met, we've faced everything together as a team! This Shadow Game is no different!" Yugi told Yami.
"You're right," Yami agreed.
"I'm still right here next to you and we can defeat Marik together. He will never win this!" Yugi stated.
"Yes, the future of so many depends on our victory, we can't let them down," Yami agreed once again.
"And you guys aren't alone in this," I said getting their attention. "Seraphina and I are here as well. Yami, you and Yugi can win this and we'll be there every step of the way," I promise. Yami nodded to me.
"I will win this and save the world," he declared.
"That jerk, only Marik can think up a game that sick," Joey spat.
"You can beat this guy, Yami!" Kendra called.
"Now then, it's still my turn so I shall activate another of my Leech's special abilities. By discarding one card, I can switch my Leech back into defense mode," Yami Marik said.
"Then why don't you to dispose of so we move on?" Yami retorted impatiently.
"Not to worry. I already know what card I'm sending to the graveyard. Hold on, Pharaoh. I'm not quite done. My Leech moves to defense mode and finally, I place one card face down. Now go!" Yami Marik told him. He's using the same trick on Yami that he used on me. He transferred the Winged Dragon of Ra to the graveyard and later he'll use Monster Reborn to summon him to the field. Yami drew his card.
"It's my move! Alright, I play my Queen's Knight (1500 ATK, 1600 DEF) in attack mode. Now attack his Leech, my Queen!" Yami ordered. Oh how I wish I could. Queen's Knight attacked and Vampiric Leech was destroyed.
"Unfortunately for you, my Vampiric Leech was in defense mode so I don't lose points," Yami Marik said.
"I'll play two cards face down. That ends my turn," Yami finished.
"Very well, then I'll continue my onslaught," Yami Marik drew his card. Yami Marik smirked. "I've draw just what I need, but before I use it, I have one more thing to take care of. So I summon my Juragedo (1700 ATK, 1300 DEF) in attack mode! Now my beast, destroy his Queen's Knight!" Yami Marik ordered. His monster attacked and defeated Yami's monster. I let out another small scream of pain. Yugi did as well as a part of his right arm disappeared.
(Marik-4000, Yugi-3300)
"Are you two alright?!" Yami asked us.
"I'll be fine, just win this duel!" Yugi replied.
"Ditto!" I agreed as Joey and Kendra supported me.
"Next I'll place two cards face down, now it's your move," Yami Marik said.
"Alright, here goes!" Yami drew his card and smirked. Yami Marik chuckled.
"Activate trap card! Left Arm Offering!" Yami Marik activated.
"No!" Yami shouted.
"Yes! This card lets me move one magic card from my deck to my hand once I've discarded every card I'm holding. So I'll take the one card I need, my Monster Reborn. You're through," Yami Marik.
"I'm afraid you're wrong! Reveal Exchange! This allows us to draw a card from the other's hand. Choose a card and hand over your Monster Reborn now!" Yami told him. Yami Marik glared as we all smiled.
"Alright!" Tristen cheered.
"Nice move, Yug!" Joey called next. Yami Marik handed his card over.
"Take it!" Yami Marik spat.
"With pleasure," Yami replied taking the card. Yami Marik then chose his card, De-Fusion. They both went back to their spots.
"Too bad, now Marik can't bring back his Egyptian God Card," I heard Seto say.
"I find that a blessing," I mumbled. I looked at Yami Marik, I wouldn't put it passed him to have another way to summon the Winged Dragon of Ra. He has something up his sleeve and I'm afraid we'll soon find out.
"I'll use Monster Reborn to bring back Queen's Knight and then I shall summon my King's Knight (1600 ATK, 1400 DEF)! When King's and Queen's Knight are in play, they're special ability allows me to summon this, Jack's Knight (1900 ATK, 1000 DEF). Now I have three monsters on my side of the field, Marik and you have only one," Yami stated.
"I'm not impressed. You're planning to sacrifice all three of your monsters so you can summon Slifer and when you do, I'll be ready," Yami Marik smirked. Yami and I glared.
"Come on, he's bluffing, Yug! Attack this freak!" Tristen called.
"Yeah, Marik's right where you want 'em and it's time to rock his world now!" Duke agreed.
"Hold on, guys. Marik still has two cards face down," Tea pointed out.
"Tea's right, Yugi's gotta be careful," Kendra agreed.
"You just said it yourself, you're monster's out number mine. What're you waiting for? Attack me!" Yami Marik challenged. Yami glared. "Well? Has the mighty Pharaoh realized there's no way he can prevail?" He laughed.
'You can't attack, that's what he wants,' I thought to Yami.
'I know...doesn't mean it's not tempting,' he thought back. That I had to agree. "I end my turn," Yami stated.
"What's the deal? That's it? Yugi could have done some serious damage if he attacked with one of his Knights," Tristen said.
"Don't be so sure," Kendra said. Joey nodded.
"I think he did the right thing by chilling out and waiting to attack, guys," Joey told them.
"I agree," Tea said.
"He's got great instincts and the time wasn't right. I knew that too, Marik's definitely got something up his sleeve," I stated.
"My move. I'll place one more card face down. Alright, now I could end this duel shortly, but it would be more amusing to extend the game and prolong your suffering. Since you're going to lose when I play my Egyptian God Card, I decided to give you some assistance, Pharaoh so you can play yours. Therefore, I shall play this magic card, Card of Sanctity, so we must each draw from our deck until we're holding six cards in our hand. Just consider that a gift," Yami Marik smirked. Yami was gritting his teeth and glaring. "Now, select your cards and best of luck. Who knows what you'll draw?"
"I'm afraid you're about to regret that move," Yami smirked as he drew his cards.
"Have you drawn your Egyptian God Card or do you need more help? I suppose I'll find out soon. I'll switch Juragedo to defense mode and end my turn," Yami Marik said.
"Alright, Marik, my turn," Yami said.
"Go ahead, Pharaoh. Summon your Egyptian God Card if you can! Let's see what the great Slifer can do!" Yami Marik told him.
"I sacrifice my Jack's Knight, my Queen's Knight, and my King's Knight in order to summon Slifer the Sky Dragon (6000 ATK, 6000 DEF)! Reveal yourself, my all powerful beast!" Yami summoned. Red lightning shot down behind him and Slifer appeared. I smiled as Slifer's tail wrapped around my shoulders.
"Hello, Slifer," I greeted.
"Sera, my old friend, are you alright?" Slifer asked. I nodded.
"I'm fine, thank you," I replied.
"Just as I thought, the ware begins!" Yami Marik smirked.
"Yeah!" The others cheered for Yugi.
"Way to go, Yug!" Joey called.
"Slifer's got your back now!" Kendra added.
"And with 6000 attack points, you're set!" Tea agreed.
"Marik's move back fired! No matter what he does, that freak is toast! So attack him and win this duel, pal!" Joey grinned. Slifer looked at Marik and growled.
"You shall pay for what you have done to the Queen and Pharaoh, Marik!" He growled.
"Behold the power of Slifer and its Thunder Force Attack!" Yami called. Yami Marik chuckled making mine and Yami's eyes widen.
"Your monster's nothing! I have this! Reveal magic card; Dark Spell Regeneration!" Yami Marik called.
"No!" Yami and I gasped.
"Hey, Seto, what's that?" I heard Mokuba ask.
"It's a rare card. With it, Marik can move any magic card he wants from the card graveyard back to the field now," Seto answered.
"Anyone he wants?!" Mokuba asked.
"Yes and both know what that means," Seto replied.
"And now I'll choose to play Monster Reborn, Pharaoh which will allows me to revive my mighty Winged Dragon of Ra! Now my Dragon, emerge in your unstoppable Phoenix Mode!" Yami Marik summoned. Slifer attacked then and Ra's wings blocked the attack. "My Egyptian God has neutralized the power of yours. In this mode, Ra is immune to all attacks for one turn, so nothing you do will stop it!" Yami Marik laughed.
"That thing is nuts!" Joey exclaimed. I had to agree, but Ra was still a friend...and I knew he regretted attacking me.
"Thanks to the fiery wrath of Ra, little Yugi will soon be consumed by darkness as Sera will slip into a coma and absolute power will be mine!" Yami Marik said before laughing. Seraphina...we need your help now more than ever.
