It had been a while since I'd spoken to Bella, I just couldn't not after what happened with Edward & the vampire James.
She was knowingly putting herself in danger & it was making me crazy. All she could talk about was how badly she wanted to be one of those things.
But today was her birthday & Charlie had asked that I forgive her, he thinks I was mad about what she had said & done to him. If only he knew, I understood why she did what she did it was to protect him but the girl just didn't have any inclination of how to have some self preservation.
I sighed as I grabbed the present I had brought her, Charlie walked past my room & stopped so that we could go in together.
I walked passed him & into Bella's room, she rolled over in her bed to look at us.
"happy birthday!" I said cheerily & very very loudly knowing just how much she hated birthdays. It meant the attention was all on her but I suppose this year it was because she was one year older than Edward which is ridiculous because the dude was at least one hundred & nine.
I walked over to her & sat on the edge of her bed next to Charlie "dad-" Bella said.
"I know but I coordinated with your mum, she has the other gift." he explained.
She smiled as she opened it revealing a camera "its to take pictures from your senior year." he said.
"this is actually great." she said with a small smile as she inspected the camera.
I handed her, her present & she took it with a tight smile. She opened the box & frowned there was a tube of silver glitter, a cross, a clove of garlic & a makeshift stake.
Charlie looked confused as he looked between me & the present "it's an inside joke." I said to him with a wicked smirk.
Bella rolled her eyes at me before glaring at me, I just smiled "your real present is for later, say after school?" I asked.
She nodded "sounds good." she said.
"is that a grey hair?" Charlie teased as he frowned at Bella & reached for her hair.
"what?" she asked panicked "no" she rushed to the mirror to inspect her hair, she groaned as she turned to face him.
He raised his hands in defeat as we chuckled at her "happy birthday." he said as we turned to leave the room.

I had texted Jacob that Bella had agreed to meet after school, he was going to set up a picnic on the res for her. I was excited to hang out with her when other people were around that meant I got Bella as Bella not the leech obsessed demon that had possessed her body.
I was walking through the halls texting Jacob when I pumped into Emmett's chest, I made a noise of surprise as I took a step back & frowned at him.
"what did I do?" he asked innocently.
"get bent, fangs." I said as I walked around him.
"you can't hate me forever, Beck." he said as he jogged to catch up to me.
I rolled my eyes "maybe not forever but for as long as I'm breathing, I can." I said, I reached my locker & opened it as he lent on the lockers beside my own.
"I have a way I can fix that, you'll even be here to like me after it." he said with a grin.
His grin fell when he saw my face "too soon?" he asked as he grimaced, I slammed my locker closed & stalked to my class room "Becka-" he called but didn't make a move to follow me, wise move I thought to myself "come on, it was only a joke." he said.
I turned the corner to my next class room & ran into Jasper "my god, you lot are everywhere." I said with distaste.
Jasper smirked "sorry, ma'am. I'll leave you be." he said his southern accent drawling out as he stepped aside for me. "I guess you're not coming to Bella's party?" he asked, I wirled around.
"what party?" I asked with a frown.
He looked as if he was considering whether he should answer that or not but he did.
"Alice planned a get together for Bella after school, did she not tell you?" he asked confused.
I growled as my hands tightened to fists at my side "no-" I said through my teeth "she did not, she was supposed to hang out with me." I said.
Jasper looked suddenly sorry & I hated him for it, I didn't need his pity.
I pushed past him & bee lined for Bella's locker where she stood playing tonsil toss with Edward.
"are you serious?" I hissed at her, she pulled away from Edward to look at me. Guilt took over her features she knew exactly what I was talking about.
"Becka, I didn't know Alice had planned it already. I'm sorry." she said.
I narrowed my eyes at her & shook my head "dude, I just wanted to hang out with you without your third arm for a minute. You couldn't even do that." I said, the disappointment was clear in my voice as I turned around & walked back to my class.
