I know.
It is completely normal
For you to ask
Why this poetry.
Why I
Do not just sit
And talk to you
Like a normal person does. Why not look at you
Tell you how my day was
How the teacher praised my handwriting today
How my mother asked me to do the dishes and I broke one
I tell you all of it
Over a cup of coffee, maybe
Without sugar.I've tried that Krishna.
Endless times, all these years
I've tried
And I've failed.I'll tell you why.
Whenever
I sit
To narrate to you
Things I usually don't
To anyoneWhenever I look at your picture
Your eternally radiant visage
Right there, printed in my soul
I just look
And look at it
My jaw drops
I daze
Awestrick
Like I've never seen you before.
You never fail to bewitch me.So much to say
So much to narrate
So much to gossip
So much to complainYet
All I say isHi, Krishna.
Long time no see.
