"Daddy! C'mon! I wanna see the twins!" Heidi says. "Quiet, Heidi! You're gonna wake em' up!" Lachlan quiets her down. Melanie was in Ian's and her room, rocking the twin babies, Lucas and Hayden to sleep. "Honey, bring my babies in," she says to Ian who is outside the door. "Okay, but their really restless now," he replies sweetly.
"Aww! Look at em'! De're so cute!" Heidi squeals. "Heidi, honey, you have to be quiet. Their tired and they wanna sleep," Ian explains. "Oh, sorry," she apologizes. "Mommy? Where are the babies sleeping?" Lachlan asks. "In our room," Melanie replies. "But, won't they cry? Are you gonna be tired?" He asks. "Only for a bit," Ian says, "Well, why don't we, oh, I don't know... Go for ice cream to celebrate?" "Oh! Yes! Yes!" The kids scream. "Well let's go!" Melanie excitedly says.
